It has been brought to my attention that we need to pick an avi, any thoughts? Should we stick with our Dothraki theme or something more whitetail related. This is my first season joining these squads so I have no frame of reference for past experiences. I'm open to any suggestions.

I will be ok with whatever anyone picks. I don’t think any of the other teams I was on even had one.

We always had one that somewhat referenced our team name. I’m not artistic or creative in that way so go for it. Just don’t use my wedding picture that was floating around. lol

Stopped in at LAS to see if they could straighten my peep out. I had a little bit of twist to it which was causing a slight glare in the lens. Before he did it I asked if it was going to change my tuning or sights or anything.the tech says no so I said ok go ahead and straighten it out. He takes my bow back and comes back a few minutes later, peep is straight and I thought all was well.I assumed he just put a twist in the string but I’m not so sure that’s what he did. I came home and started at 20 yards. WTF!! I was shooting about 4-5”high and 2-3” right. Not what I wanted to see. Peep seems to be in same spot but something isn’t the same obviously. I did get it dialed back in but didn’t want to mess with it. That’s why I asked first. Tomorrow I’m going to stop back out and have them check tuning on paper to make sure all is good there and shoot again to make sure sight is good for sure again.very frustrating!!!
I should have just let it go as is. I’m planning to restring next year. This is my 3rd season with these strings. ABB platinum.

That sucks man. Always a good idea to check out your gear when you get something adjusted. Hopefully it'll still be rubbed properly and there won't be need for additional adjustment.

How much are you shooting? Your strings might not need to be replaced. And if you can shoot at home don't pay those guys too paper tune. We can walk you through it.

I don’t shoot all that much. The last couple months I’ve been shooting maybe 100 shots a week if that. I’m not that tech savvy when it comes to adjusting things. I trust them and they have never let me down before. I’m pretty sure if I go back and tell them what happened they will make it right. I do have a buddy that is very good with this type of things. I may get him to help me out. I looked at ABB warranty info because I thought there was something that says they guarantee no peep creep but it’s only for 2 years. It’s been 2 years this past June I think so don’t think they will honor any replacement , not that I want to through all that again.

I get it, if you ever start tinkering with your rig you won't stop. I don't let anyone touch my girl now. Unless your string is showing wear(unsafe wear) I think you are fine but that's your call and money.

I’m gonna spend some time and make sure it’s good and get me through season. Will rethink setup after season

Ok so what do you guys think of shots through paper. It doesn’t look too bad to me. Two of the holes have a little tear but not terrible. Other two look perfect.

If you are not changing anything on your rig after the shots the rips are due to form. (Ie it's you brother ) you look good .

I didn’t change a thing between shots just wanted to get a general idea. I know my form is not perfect. It never has been. I don’t consider myself a target archer I’m a deer hunter. I hate shooting at dots!! I always shoot at a deer target of some sort. If arrows are in heart or lungs I consider it a bullseye. I’m just happy to see that there wasn’t anything crazy on the paper.
I’m actually meeting up with my buddy on Friday and hes gonna check things out with me.
Thanks for the input I appreciate the help.

Near complete bullet holes, so your fletched arrows are good, especially if you are grouping them consistently with field point and broadhead. If you really want to see how they are flying, try bare shaft next year in paper or at least after the season. Keep your confidence going this close to the season, though.

I agree with Fix about your strings. Keep them unless you see drastic wear and or strand separation. I know a guy at work, strings are 20 yrs old and kills one every year.

As far as your tune and peep, do not bet on the no twist guarantees. I have yet to see one not twist, just some with great quality don’t twist as bad as others (ABB is great quality). If he took a twist out or added to square it up, most don’t know that can change draw length (minimally)and therefore your tune and possible anchor point.

If it still feels comfortable, anchor feels good, then I say retune and fling’em. If it does not then have them reset string (or last change) and re-tie the peep while having them check the D-loop twist.

I have the parts list for a homemade paper tuning setup as well. IMG_1456.JPG

I may have to build one of those. I rigged something up to get an idea of where I was at.

On a completely different topic, I'm thinking about late season gear. I've got a set of bibs that are not the greatest, Cabellas branded if I remember correctly, I've gotten busted just shifting weight in my stand before on a super calm morning in December.
I don't want to spend the sitka price tag but will if everyone, in unison, says its worth every penny. I like my ScentLok jacket and everything else I've purchased from them. I'm thinking about the BE1 fortress bibs, but I'm open to suggestions.
Give me some informed opinions and I'll make a decision.
