Only $670 for every 100 fps. For a device that will depreciate faster than your finger rips through the toilet paper. :eek2:

10 pounds? No thank you. Aren’t crossbows supposed to be getting lighter?

I’d love to screw around with one at the range, but I ain’t paying $3,300 for one

Well, at this rate, maybe 60-100 yard shots start becoming more and more ethical. That speed is double...or even more than my compound.

Crossbow companies keep coming up with crap like this and they will business themselves right out of regular archery seasons.

    I know, I know,

why not just purchase a gun ? sounds just like a twenty gauge shotgun slug, Crossbows will take themselves out just by the way their progressing, take the hunt out of hunting and you will not have hunting

There are a litany of problems with these ultra-fast crossbows. Many of them blow up or have mechanical failures due to the excessive amount of power and force they are generating. You can't get the arrows out of your target. Broadheads don't hold up, etc.

IMO we're going to see a balance at some point where we settle into the high 300's or low 400's as the "sweet spot" for crossbow performance. Just like we settled into the 330-350 range with compounds. People tried pushing into the 360's and higher and the benefits never outweighed the issues with the draw cycle, tuning, shootability, etc.

Give me a lightweight, well-balanced, accurate, and dependable crossbow that shoots around 400 fps and I'm happy.

Got any that you would recommend? I'm looking for one that I could let some younger cousins shoot, and hopefully get into archery. (11, and 14yo)
I don't need anything fancy. Just a crossbow that will be lethal and accurate at 41 yards.

I really like the Tenpoint Titan M1. It's $800 for the full setup the shoots 370 fps and is accurate to at least 42 yards.

Not saying I don't like the superfast, flagship bows. I have a Havoc 440 and it's a badass machine. But if I was just getting into the game and didn't want to break the bank, the Titan or Turbo would both be on my shortlist.

You are seeing the top of the Nitch market for the few that have to have the speed. Spending over three grand for a bow is beyond nuts. Like others have said you will give it away in 6 years, bows do not hold much value with age (some stickbows are the rare exception) With that being said the middle of the road speeds of 350 to 425 seem to be the sweet spot for the majority of crossbows. Depending on what you like, the faster the bow the more it costs. You never stop paying for that speed due to special arrows, reserving the string and cables or just replacing them at very early intervals. Tuning can be problematic as well. Long shots? nothing has changed here. It's not the arrow, it's the Indian. At the end of the day it's still a bow shooting a arrow. When you increase the distance, you increase the odds of a bad shot. Rubber targets don't move, live animals do and at the worst times.

Sadly it just means we are closer to folks defending shooting 120-150 yards with a crossbow honestly...
