I got to X-Spot Archery in Attleboro, MA. The guy Al, knows his sh!t. I just got screwed by the string company, so my bow got lumped in with all the last minute August string orders. sucks, but I should have ordered it sooner than July I guess.

X-Spot is a great shop! I've worked with them a few times at my company and met them at our annual dealer show!

First Crossbow and it's a Raven! Wow you did buy a rocket. That's a good way to introduce them to archery. I started taking my granddaughter at the age of 7 and to date she has taken 4 bucks. Last year she shot a 11 point in Ohio that scored 135". Good Luck with the kids!

Well boys, my season just got potentially a lot better. Last night I got mail from the PA game commission, I had entered in for a controlled hunt here in Eastern PA that they give out 42 archery tags a year for a wildlife preserve that spans over 1000acres. They only give out a couple of permits for the buck hunt, everyone else gets does and somehow by some miracle God blessed me with one of the buck tags.... I will be hunting a 290 acre piece of this property from 10/16- 10/23 was the slot I was selected for. Man this is going to be an awesome season!!! I've seen pictures of a buck in that area that was in the high 180's a couple years back!

Also had two crazy nice bucks show up last night… the decision to whack a doe is gonna be tough with them in the area
This one showed up about 30 minutes before last light

Then this guy showed up and kept coming back about every two hours all night

Anyone had much luck with mock scrapes? I think I'm going to try one out at a property I only hunt occasionally. Small acreage but a healthy deer herd there.

Haven’t had much luck hunting over them, but have had good luck taking buck inventory putting a camera over them. They hit them pretty often in well traveled areas. At night quite a bit, but I did have daylight activity as well, I just didn’t happen to be hunting those days of course.

60 yards in a 15 mph slight cross wind. Didn’t want to make any further adjustments until it was calmer but I’d say we’re close with some minor fine tuning to do.

Mock scrapes are hit or miss for me, but I do have pretty good luck with the BuckStik. It's a licking branch/rubbing post with gland scents. I've killed my last 2 bucks right off the Stik and many of my pics come from that setup.
