Had a decent day in the water. My son lost a 6 to 7lb walleye at the boat. We got a couple other nice ones and some small mouth also. DD9BF925-6DCD-4D1B-8647-09DF22C71AAB.jpeg

Thanks Anthony! What a beautiful morning. Bite was slow however. Temps dropped 30 degrees and wind picked up hard. Plus I was 2 hrs late. Ha. Did catch one 16 incher. Short fishing trip 20210902_090352.jpg 20210902_081937.jpg

Maybe next time the water and weather will be right and you'll hammer them!

Let's try this again buddy. Heading in early. Temps up 10 degrees and winds cut in half. We shall see.

Took me 2.5 hrs to catch my first fish. They wouldnt hit on your baits, my baits, or the combo of both. Caught a good smallie on a little off color jig and then they finally started to hit after I put on the topwater. 6 decent ones including a nice 4 lb river largemouth.

Finally got out a couple times this weekend. Saturday evening we caught about 25 largemouth, but nothing of any real size. I spent half the night getting my 9-year old's line untangled from mine or from whatever it was he got snagged on. Sunday morning we hit a smallmouth lake and put 7 or 8 in the boat - all on Ned rigs. It was a little slower than I would have liked, but it was still good to get out.

Monday we took the little kids fishing and caught a couple dozen bluegills from the shore. They had a blast.

Hoping to get out a few more times in September before I put the boat away and start focusing on killing deer.
