When does everyone's season start? Mine starts October 1st here in Indiana. I have 2 or 3 target bucks I am after. Only have one private property I hunt and then I hunt some public. Usually take off the last week of October/first week of November off but me and my fiance are expecting a baby boy October 30th. So we will see. lol Will definitely be good for a doe and hopefully with some luck a buck this year.

Checking in!! I'm getting married the 2nd weekend of October so my early season will be limited but going to be hitting it hard after that. Plus any and every mornings before work I am going to try to get out even if its only for a couple hours.

    West Central Texas here.

Archery season opens October 2 - general season closes up January 2 - special late (antlerless/spikes) continues until January 16.

January is when I often get out the rifle and kill does until I've got no tags left ... way too many in our area to leave an unfilled tag.

I've gotten a late start and don't have any scouting done or stands hung yet. We've been working on buying our own property this year and that's taken most of my time. I lost both of the properties I killed deer on for the last few years this summer. I was hoping to buy one of them but the real estate market went crazy (land prices doubled here since the beginning of 2020) and put it out of our reach.

Usually good for multiple doe and at least one buck ... but I learned in the 2019 contest to never make such guarantees ... if I and one other of our team members came through on our "never been skunked yet" claims we would have been the winners!

Here are my two that I will be chasing this year. The buck with the split G2 is 5 1/2 or 6 years old. Been after him for 3 years. The other one is right at 4. Hoping to get a crack at one them. I have one or two others that are on the hit list but only have gotten 2 or 3 pictures of them all summer.

The split G2 buck is been on a really good pattern but i think his pattern will change a lot when he sheds his velvet. I think I have a good shot at him this year. He usually more nocturnal in the past years but this year I have a lot of day light pics.
