Yall getting any hit listers on cam yet?, Ive got 2 on the list and a few up n comers heres the 2 Id poke with a sharp stick if they give me a chance. These are on My little 13 acre property in central Ga, I still havent put My cams out at My hunt club or My Kentucky spot,
I've been sharing my bucks on here for years and it's been years since I killed over of those target bucks. I'm going to play this year close to the vest.
Yeah got a few...the 2'fer is on 15 acre plot and the 3'fer (had a 4th tagging along with them but wouldn't come in close) on a 20 acre plot.
Saw one at 1:30 today big bodied brute with tall rack . With a nice a 8 pt.that was at least 21/2 and noticeably smaller body. They had a 1 1/2 yr old with them.
Nice looking deerz, I don’t have any specific. Just going out and seeing what happens, in the past I got fixated on one deer and it turned into work rather then hunting. Good luck getting after em!
Cant really pattern deer out west on public land at least where I’m at. Back home in Missouri we don’t talk about targets until the day before we hunt and everyone is back sitting around the fire. Then the pics are passed around and everyone starts talking. Probably not the best way to prepare and pattern big ones but I think it started and stayed bc of the family aspect of it and how we all live all over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We got up within 60 yards of him, filmed it all, and snapped some cool pics. Why use trail cameras when you can get out there hahah. - I do also use cams, just not on that piece.
That's where I like to disagree, as it comes down to knowing your area. He didn't storm out, he didn't snort, he got bumped off the field. 2 months before season, and I could bet he was back out there eating 2 hours later. You can't live with the mindset of every deer you bump is never going to return... You bump deer walking to your stand and climbing a tree all the time, deer you didn't even know got bumped. Its hunter Paranoia, something you shouldn't worry about. And I'm not saying go out there night after night otherwise you might condition your deer to that... This is also a public area with walking trails - between farmers and equipment out there every week and people walking their dogs daily, I'm not worried one bit...
There is a big difference between someone plodding down a trail with a dog or driving around in a pickup versus someone in a crouched position sneaking up on a deer and staring at it like a predator. The deer certainly know the difference. One is a threat, the other is just an annoyance. I understand that deer will get bumped and return. I have killed some great bucks that I had previously bumped. But again, there is a big difference to them being bumped by someone just walking along and someone stalking up on them. They will not tolerate that too many times. I will admit that it made for a cool photo op. Best of luck.
The only hit listers we’re seeing are 4 & 6 pointers. Hopefully some travelers move in. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
You aint gonna "blow" a buck out of the area checking cams!! Proved it many times. Older bucks just don't frequent certain, specific spots like does n young bucks do. He's still close by.
Been doing some scouting on public close to home and got a photo of this guy. We'll see what develops. On the private I hunt I am not seeing much. Ever since CWD regs came into play here in SE MN we have had numbers down for bigger bucks - at least in my area. There is a pretty decent 9 but this buck is something I'd be quite proud of if I am blessed enough to counter him and capitalize. I am planning on splitting my sits between my compound and recurve so with the recurve I'd more than happy to harvest a "smaller buck."
Here are my 3 main target bucks. Been after the one with a split G2 for 3 years now. He is probably 6 maybe 7 years old now. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
