I am in fact a newb, but adding a contest to an already exciting new hobby definitely has me intrigued. Wont need to be on any team first go around but will be interesting to see what everyone else throws up and keep track of anything I might run across this season.
HAHA, I am not worried about it either way. I will eventually have my post count up, not going to inflate it just to make the cut. There's always next year.
I had that perspective years ago. Now the comp is the best thing all year. You meet people and in some cases friends. And once the contest starts people stick to their teams and other threads slow down. Trust me if you are going to stay active then do what you have to to join. It's a blast.
Plenty of time to get your post count up. This site is full of amazing people full of knowledge. The "Live from the stand" thread is addicting once the season starts. We have members who post minute-by-minute pictures of blood trailing, and everyone helps each other out. All in all, this is a great site, welcome aboard!
Last I knew, he had fallen for a pyramid scheme that involves selling life insurance. He thought he was on his way to becoming a top tier super-producer. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.
Got a 7ft elevated blind base built today, put it on the edge two fields, only easy path from field to field. It funnels them quite nicely, looking forward to seeing how they use it with corn planted.
I would love to see an interview with this guy. Just to hear his backstory and dealings. I also wonder about the newbs that find the thread and start into it expecting great achievements, then getting to the real deal and falling into disappointment
Hey man, I was duped by that prick for some time and can't imagine what the new folks ( that dig that far into the forum) would think. I think most of us were surprised by the shenanigans. And I totally agree, I wanna hear that neighbor's perspective in the worst way. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I got caught up into it as well, especially during his pre season postings. I thought it was awesome stuff by someone with the money to do such. Then got a PM after this imagery started appearing and a bit of sleuthing led to his demise. Good riddance now, and feel sorry for those following along with his new tall tales and adventures.
Yes, good riddance. I still wonder what drives someone like that to do what he did. Just crazy in the literal sense. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
