Celebrated my 38th birthday today by continuing my tradition of max deadlift testing on my birthday. I hit 445lbs on the Trap bar. There wasn’t room to add another 5lbs for an even 450. That was after work today. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and an easy 20 minute walk on the treadmill earlier in the day for my lunch break.

Strong work, thats no small task! Its not like you can climb into the hot tub and slide into bed after a long day on the trail. That kind of training will definitely get your body and mind right. Good job!

Happy B day Cantexian and solid lift!

I'm still hitting core/legs with some cuff exercises. I've done a few short runs 2-3 miles. I'm having a great week at BJJ. A few concepts are starting to click and endurance on the mat has been good.

MRI of my shoulder later this morning.

    Stay after it!

I wish I could get into the weight training like some of you guys but I just seem to have no interest in it. Seems like I just want to do more and more cardio. At the same time I'd like to be stronger but at age 66 in not sure how much muscle I would even be able to add.

    HBD you beast!!

I tweaked my shoulder a bit yesterday doing bench  so I need to rest the upper body for a bit. Did legs this morning. 10 min HIIT warmup followed by my favorite leg circuit of weighted box step-ups, incline leg press, farmer's carry, leg curls, calf raises, deadlifts, single-leg press, leg extensions then a little bit of stretching followed by a 20-minute sprint on the stair bastard and ending with some additional stretching and planks. I got to the gym early today and ended up just a touch over 1 hr 45 min for the full workout.

Now I won't feel so bad eating and drinking like crap on our 3 day guys fishing trip. Smallies, water, sun, and beer, here we come.

Weighted pull ups @25lbs for 5 reps, 5 push ups, Rope Rotations, Jump Rope 1 minute x 5 rounds

    Landmine Shoulder Press @ 30lbs x 10 reps/side, Rope Face Pulls @ 50lbs for 12 reps, DB lateral raises @15lbs for 12 reps, DB Curls @35lbs for 8 reps, 1 minute jump rope x 3 rounds.

Finished with an easy 20 minute walk at 3.3 mph at 10% incline. I did a couple minutes of jump rope as part of the warm up so it was 10 minutes of jump rope interspersed throughout the workout.

I've been slowly upping my distance walking everyday. I'm up to the 3 mile mark. I'm waiting for my brain to snap out of my desire/craving of bad food realizing how harder it makes exercising. Hopefully, that will happen soon.

I should probably start doing some type of AB workout and pushups or something to kick start the healthier eating. I hate situps/ab work with a passion.

    Happy bday Cantexian!

I'm slowly cranking a long the workouts. Close to 7 weeks without alcohol and minimal bread. My craving for bread ha reduced to a minimum. Slowly and surely losing weight every week. Still need to get to 235 so I can have a darn beer!
