Please don’t show my wife! That looks amazing, we were going to keep the wall white but it didn’t really stick out very well. She always asks what I think about colors, I just nod and agree with whatever she picks.
Being a carpenter my entire life I’ve been able to do a lot of things for other people and get some easy and simple ideas for dressing up a home. Crown moulding is another rather simple project that can add some wow and value to a home. You can be simple with just one piece or get crazy and add a couple layers. What a whirlwind of a day. Looking at luxury vinyl flooring at Menards. Redoing the entire upstairs floor (kitchen/living room/hallway). Scraping and redoing this hack job of a ceiling job they did on removing a wall/closet. Repainting basically the entire upstairs. Repainting the cabinets and getting an island for the kitchen. Seems like a lot but we’ve got some amazing friends and family who are helping us. Basically just paying for materials right now. Figured we would get all of the big projects out of the way right away since we have a place to stay while doing it. Sump pump battery is on our list of things to get. Good to know people who are willing to help with things like this. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I misspoke. The girlfriend was looking at attached pad laminate when she sent me that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Make sure you don't have any subsurface water. We are on a wet weather spring which has water running from under the garage floor. This prevents any concrete work in the basement/den. Den area was used f ro home school. Owner glued 1x2 boards and nailed up paneling over that and put up sheetrock ceilings in the den/basement/shop. Didn't bother to rewire the basement before he did that. Mesuggah!
Basically could call her my wife at this point. Dating 8 years and neither of us is in a rush to get married haha. I’m leaving everything up to her. Literally. I looked at some flooring colors but essentially she’s in charge of everything. I just lift things, tear things apart, and put things back together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fact of life in many areas if you want a basement. When we built, our footings were 18" below grade for a full basement. Most years the pump doesnt run. If we have a lot of snow and fast spring warmup, the pump will run a few days.
It’s not my forever home so I’m looking for something cheap and easy. Make it look nicer and better than what was in there before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here is your chance to eliminate floor squeaks. Walk every inch of the floor, find a squeak, put in a screw. Or just put a screw in between each nail on the floor sheeting.
Productive weekend. Moved 3 truckloads of stuff into the basement. Carpet and previous laminate ripped up from kitchen/living room/hallway. Ceilings scraped today in the kitchen/living room/hallway. Cleanup really sucked and took longer than the project itself. New flooring bought. Making an island for the kitchen from a Home Depot premade cabinet. Bought that today. Countertop for island ordered today. Paint/primer for ceiling bought today. Paint for rest of the house bought today. Should have the ceiling done and painted this week. When that is done we will start on painting the rest. Once painting is done we will do the floor. I learned a lot this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
