Hell, I can see bare ground in some spots of my yard.

Makes it difficult to skid logs out of the woods. At least the temp will be more winter like. Get the ground froze so when it snows I can get to work.

I got the gist of things from a coworker that had the meeting today. Company is offering a retention bonus paid out over installments. Sign now, get a bonus in next pay check a second one in Dec and a third next Dec. Have to pay back the most recent payout if you voluntarily leave or are dismissed for cause.

My question to the coworker was how long do we have to think about this and will we know if there is a replacement for the coworker how is leaving in a week before we have to sign. That could be a very big GOTCHA!

For now, happy to say, we do have a replacement and that person is back on the job tomorrow. This person was let go when the company downsized this department nearly a year ago. Kind of surprised they said yes to coming back.

Guess I have to stop being an a$$hole if I sign the offer.

Not sure if it's in HQs plan, but especially if they have a lot of capital tied up at your facility, they could be considering selling it... Rather than close and liquidate.

    Don't burn bridges.

I made some of their breakfast sausage from my deer, but went with Br sugar instead of maple syrup. Also a good recipe. I think I mentioned that in the recipe thread.

Lots of capital. As product moves out of the facility, the machine tools to produce it goes with in most cases.

Hell, if im there at the end, i would volunteer to be part of the crew boxing up whatever is left.

Whatever it takes to cover income through Dec 2024.

So now if you are an athlete and stand during the anthem that is an issue.

I know it is winter in Wisconsin now but I really hate when it snows right after I've finished plowing and shoveling.

It's like dandelions popping up as soon as you've finished mowing the lawn.

Engineering people to be allergic to meat? Why go to all that trouble when all you need to do is get a few leftist celebrities to say that they're allergic. I mean, look at all the folks out there on gluten free diets who don't have coeliacs disease.

Of course it is. Well, except for when it is the "black national anthem"... Standing is mandatory for that one...

Wife called me at work about an hour ago. She is trying to coordinate rides to the doctor's for both my FIL and MIL on Monday. MIL has a follow up surgery clean an infection in her incision from emergency surgery over Thanksgiving. FIL has a colonoscopy on Monday and refuses to reschedule to drive his wife to her surgery. They had some kind of argument yesterday, probably about this. We can't take them because our kids school switched to all online yesterday after a COVID outbreak. As far as we know, our kids were not exposed. But, the whole school shut down. Maybe they go back Monday, probably not. Feels more and more like I have five kids instead three.

See above... $1,000/round sounds slightly less unreasonable when there are in-laws in the vicinity

I have had to shovel this monster drive 4 x's in 5 days...I admit...I'm getting tired. 9:45 before I could my first cup of coffee.
This said I have made delivery guys VERY, VERY happy. The propane guy saw I even shoveled a path to the tank laughed out loud with joy! Smile ear to ear thanking me as I was cleaning off the tractor and boat. So few people think to do that!

Why don't you use the tractor to clear the driveway?

It's actually my winter exercise out side. We get so much snow walking even in the woods is very tough. I have more concerns over hiking through the snow than shoveling it, as far as heart attacks are concerned.
I just like to SPACE these sessions out a bit.
Also my little shovel lets down to ground shoveling without packing any snow. This keeps the real ice issues that happen in melts to a minimum.
So my rant is really about the numbers it had to be done in a short time not the actual shoveling.
The delivery guy asked the same question, saying I need to get a cab on the tractor. He got a shocked look on his face when I said Oh it's my exercise,I might be 63, but I'm in good shape. I have plans to be doing this well into my 70's
