Woke up Sunday morning to see frost everywhere. Huge flakes. They were even stuck to the antenna on my truck.

    I took a few pictures....

Wonder how long we will be able to call to hoar frost? The trees around the lake are beautiful lot's of pines.

Our trees look mostly like that here. Ice base layer followed by a bit of snow, light glaze of ice, a bit of freezing fog and then some hoarfrost to top it off. Reminds me of that spray on Christmas stuff. While completely natural it looks so unnatural at the same time.

Have noticed over the year, calling coyotes sucks ass when hoar frost is heavy.

It was a beautiful drive on the way home from work yesterday. Took a few pictures when I got home.

I just like asking people if they have noticed the hoar frost.

It's been like that here in central MN for almost a week now. Welcome sight in the heart of winter.

So incredibly disappointed the local 4 page "Hometown News" featured a picture on the front page they called it Rime Frost.

They could be right. Did you have a foggy night or clear?

It's been foggy here most late nights and early mornings. Now, most of the frost is on ridge tops and not much on lower ground.
