Nope Sunnies crappies and pike just like last week, the bite is from 2:30 to 4:30 15' of water all on wax worms.

We were a day away from getting on the ponds and smaller lakes here and then jumped back into the 50's. Looks like it may be a couple weeks or more before we put some more ice back on.

Christmas came early my dark house arrived today and my black betty inline reel. I hate to do it but to do the betty justice it needs to go on a premium rod. How the hell is it possible to spend $100 on an ice fishing rod? A $150 jig stick going to take a lot of crappie filets to pay that off.

I should have stopped to take a picture. There were a dozen people, some with pop-up shanties out on a small 15+ acre lake near me yesterday. It was 51 degrees, the ice was clear with open water in spots and an inch or more of water on top of the ice.

That would be a big hell no for me.

There is another lake not far from me that still has a spot of open water, will never ice fish that lake.

Son and law and his brother got 14 crappies this morning from 7:30 till 10 this morning. This was on a day considered poor, 1 out of 4 stars according to the solunar tables. Their time did roughly correlate with the morning peak. 10" of ice.

Couple young pals of mine fished LotW today.
Daytime bite. They caught 37 walleye and a few sauger.
    Decent sized fish also.

Buddies are doing well on the lake I fish 99% of the time. Said they are on about 7" of ice and saw the first permanent come out on Saturday. I won't go until I get my house out so it'll probably be the weekend of the 8th at the earliest.

Evidently there was a 4 door full size pick up on the lake today, that is ballsy.

Got my Black Betty mounted on a St. Croix mojo ice. Can't wait to get back out just waiting for my glow ant jigs to arrive.

Just drops quicker. Lakes I fish down here have basically zero structure so I like the jig to get back down as quick as possible while the school is still there.
