Was about to head out to my spot when my camera sent me pics of my target buck walk right by my stand at 550. Gonna wait a bit, go set up in gray light I guess. There's a hot doe there. Her and a separate buck went by a bit earlier. Bucks had nose to ground following her trail. Good luck out there. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Those are two really great pics! That white deer is a true rarity. I get almost as much delight from checking my cams as I do actually hunting! I see more deer on my cams! lol
Good luck to those of you out today. I slept with a Biofreeze patch on my back last night. I woke up pretty sore but not as stiff as I expected. I can move pretty well and no new pain. Right now I don’t feel much worse than after a rough football game in high school. I could probably go sit in a ground blind and shoot something with a rifle, not sure I could hold my bow back very long. And I wouldn’t want to climb a tree today. I don’t think I would want to drag a deer anywhere though. Good luck guys!
Doe and fawn just slipped by. Nothing in tow. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Headed out soon. We slept in, up late visiting with family after dinner. Taking my wife out today, focus will be on getting something in front of her. She’ll be carrying her rifle and I’ll have the cap lock in hand. She wants a buck this year, I’m ready to put anything but a yearling in the freezer with my tag. Black Friday I only do one of two things, never leave the house or get out of town and head for the woods. Good luck everybody!
I’ve been out all morning, haven’t seen a dang thing. Just set up on a field edge for the evening, I’m debating about going through the super duper thick thicket and try to push something out of bed. This is a desperate move, it’s super duper duper thick, like rabbit home thick. No way to be quiet about, it’s hoping they feel extremely hidden and don’t move...kind of a dumb move but it might work.
Only saw one other unknown deer. Back home to finish up some chores then its off to my buddy's farm for a few days to chase a monster. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yesterday on Nov 26th I saw or heard a variety of birds chirping, slugs on leaves, moths flying about, and frogs croaking. What the heck man. haha. You think a deer is gonna move before dark in these conditions? no
I’m in for the evening hunt. Nice and quiet getting in with the leaves still damp from the rain. Good luck out there guys/gals, be safe! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm sorry man, but this made me laugh. It's been an odd year in the woods for sure. Hopefully we can get a lucky late season or second rut where the stars align, deer move and the arrow hits true. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yesterday was a beautiful sit. My soul needed it. But in addition to the things I added above, the Thanksgiving beer and liquor must have hit the good old VA backwoods boys hard around 4pm yesterday. Repeated gunfire and hoops and hollers for an hour.
I had mosquitos on me this morning. I'm pretty sure I could hear frogs also. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
So, we finished the grind and the last two deer are processed and in the freezer. One of them is going to my niece at some point in the future. My hunting clothes have been washed and are in the dryer and I'll be back in a tree this afternoon here on my home place. On a side note, counting the two deer my son killed I've processed a lot of deer this year and I hadn't cut myself once. Yesterday I was cutting up the last few pieces to go in the grind pile. I had just been mentally patting myself on the back when I nicked the knuckle of my left index finger. I got annoyed and less than two minutes later I sliced the cuticle off my left middle finger. That's what I get for getting cocky I guess.
After my accident with 4 fractures in my back, I never felt the pain there until the general soreness relinquished.... I’m glad you’re paying attention to it... praying for you, bro Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
