He hunted yesterday afternoon and this morning with no sightings, but he forgot his hand warmers and wimped out at 8:30 this morning.

He’s finished hunting and will head home tomorrow. We have two more deer to process today.

I’m tagged out on bucks In MO and you still have your tags. Again, if you can work in a weekend trip or two, the travel trailer is sitting here prepped and you’ll be able to walk out the gate and be on stand in 5 minutes.

    You’re welcome anytime.

Multiple new bucks have been showing up on cell cams and on friends cams. Couple buddy's tagged out the last couple days on new or bucks that have not been on cam for weeks. Peak rut is dwindling down and mature bucks are covering ground looking for hot does here in Ohio. Late November is one of my favorite times to find an old mature buck cruising onto property he's not familiar with. Great time to kill a "trespasser" buck! Stick with it boys!

Anyone getting out this weekend? The weather is not looking great for tomorrow 40% chance of rain and a high of 74. I think I am going to take my kids fishing tomorrow, wife has plans tomorrow night. I may see if I can get out for a rifle sit on my friend's farm with my oldest Sunday evening. I may bow hunt with one of my boys if that does not work out. I will try to get out at least a couple of times next weekend as well with the long weekend.

Took the kids fishing yesterday morning but didn’t hunt. It was almost 80 here yesterday. Poured down rain and really windy today. I opted not to hunt. I should get out next weekend sonce I have a four day weekend.

My son and I sat out in the wind and rain Saturday with only a few sighting of small bucks and does. This morning after the weather had passed, it started off great. Small bucks were chasing does out in the field right from the start.
After the field had cleared and while we were talking about all the great action, his target buck appears on the far side of the field heading our way. He was on a track of an apparent hot doe zig zagging back and forth. Once he reached a shooting lane and stopped to check the wind, I asked my son if he had a clear shot. He said yes and I reminded him to take his time and put the cross hair right behind the should.
At the crack of his .44 mag, I could hear the impact and the buck quickly mule kicked and ran over a ridge in the field out of sight with tail tucked. We new he couldn’t go far.
He made a great shot at 88 yds and the buck only made it 60yds from the hit. His first deer out of a tree stand.

I was hoping to get out at least once this weekend. Unfortunately, I don’t think that is going to to happen. As I was getting off the roof this morning from putting up Christmas lights, my ladder went out from under me. I only fell about six feet since I was already on the ladder and off the roof. I managed to land on my feet but got tangled in the ladder and fell back pretty hard into the table on our back deck. I don’t think I am seriously hurt. I was able to get up unassisted and am moving okay. But, I am incredibly sore and getting stiff. I am going to have to take it easy this weekend and hope it is not more serious than I think.

We celebrated early with the kids. They were at the other parent’s house this year. We just spent the day relaxing and baking pies.

I had an X-ray on my back this morning. The initial results look good. No obvious damage to my vertebrae, just some lingering tightness from the muscles being tense. Hopefully, I few more days and I will be feeling perfectly normal.

Congrats to @grommel! He killed a buck that went 109 2/8" a couple of days ago. It is posted on the score card. There he goes again, just posting up scores and not telling us. :rock:

@grommel, I'm afraid you are going to need to re-score your buck. All measurements must be to the nearest 1/8", not the nearest 1/4".
