Im not knocking him at all. I was only saying its hard at pics, but i was trying to get a picture of mine that made me think he was as big as he was. I couldn't find the right one. Those extra points and mass don't always show up. He is a great great buck and a huge congratulations again.
Congrats on a HUGE deer! Again, I just didn’t see particularly the beam measurements and the 7” bases from the pics. I know pics can definitely be deceiving. I didn’t mean to take anything away from your awesome accomplishment! 200” just looks different on some deer than others and I think it was all the abnormal points that threw me off.
Johnny, is there a way to ban those from joining a team next year that joined a team this year, and ghosted said team after shooting a deer and not logging it on the score thread? Unless of course they died... then I suppose we can let them join next years contest.... and vote of course in the election Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I suppose your team’s case is the worst, but there have been a handful who signed up, checked in and then disappeared and haven’t been heard from since. If they don’t show back up then I’d have no problem with them not being allowed to sign up next year but that’ll probably have to be run by the higher-ups for approval.
I mean the contest is just for fun but it takes the wind out of the team when you have guys doing that.... don’t friggin join if you aren’t going to participate fully Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Every team has at least one of those. I agree with @Tony. I also think raising the minimum post requirement to something higher than 25 would solve a lot of that problem as well.
I also think a captain on each team gathering each members email privately can go a long way as well. I used to do that on a few teams for guys with low post counts or new to site within the last year. Another way to contact them. Inactive members are infuriating.
almost everyone on our team joined a GroupMe chat and it's been nice to keep up and chat with each other all season
When I first took on this job I was worried about being able to hunt and keep up with the contest. Now that the peak of the rut (in most areas) has passed, I'm thinking... Come on folks! Kill some deer and give me something to do or else I'll just go out and kill another one.
I pictured LC using a Pen sword against faceless warriors using a magic tape in my head but hey maybe that's just me
I have 2 ghosts.... will not respond to me ... my team thread went black, Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
