200 yds and completely lost blood. The last 50yds was a drop every 15-20ft until absolutely nothing. I ran him through the shot cause i couldn't see the shot cause we were in a blind. I could only see him running off. Apparently the shot was almost head on. 11yo kids, they get excited. We grid searched and crawled through thickets. Never found anymore blood, no beds with blood in them and no dead deer. I believe that he slid the broadhead down the right shoulder of the deer. Probably gave it a pretty good laceration. We had a long talk about hunter ed and deer position and shot placement. Learning experience. He will be back out this afternoon.

That blood and how long you trailed him is exactly what happened to me last Monday. I know your pain

Set up for the PM shift. Jumped two that I saw, and might have been a third. They went up wind of me and my free, so they’ll stay local.
Also spooked a different young doe about 40 yards from my tree. At least I know there’s deer in the area!

That was the most deer I can recall seeing on the way to my tree in quite some time.
Good luck to those lucky enough to be in the woods. Beautiful weather!!

They heard you were out again. And they are doing all they can to keep from being the next one to die

I'm up! Sitting the same area I shot that buck on October 30. Still new sign in here since then. Let's see what happens!

    Congrats LC on the double!

Okay. They're skinned, quartered and on ice in coolers. I actually had to go buy another cooler. The two I brought weren't big enough.

I'm about to load up and head home to Missouri. I have one more tag but I don't want to take three deer home. I'll save that tag just in case I get bored with Missouri and Arkansas.

I'm gonna need a 5 Hour Energy for this drive.

Stay safe and take a nap if needed, just not while driving! Haha.

Just for fun you should add up your buck scores and your does and see how you compare in score in the contest. You could be a one man team!

Nothing but squirrels for me so far. Hoping this afternoon turns around. Been slow my last few hints with deer. I've even hunted several different spots/stands. Cameras show slow movement too. One can hope a big one strolls through before dark

Caught an 8pt on camera couple days ago but he's not getting here until a little past shooting time so I cut the distance down about 250yds to close the distance from the direction he was coming from. There's about 15 acres of some crazy stuff past this drop off I think he beds down there. Got a good north wind. Hopefully I'll have something to report later. Good luck everyone who is out. 1606248734418.jpeg
