Trying to decide what to get I will use it to drive out on the lake for the most part, but up here you can drive a side by side pretty much every where out here in the country towns.
Have a friend who has a SXS. Small bed for hauling. There are those that are 4 passenger. If my wife said to buy one (fat chance!), I would opt for the SXS. Life is full of important decisions.
Side by side for sure! Only way a wheeler would maybe be better is if you plan to haul it much and don't have a trailer. Then again, buy a trailer for your side by side and you'd still be happier.
I don't have plans to haul it anywhere but true if I fish other lakes in the area. There is another lake close buy and several within 10 miles, never thought of that .
Side by sides are the most popular thing out there right now. I've had one for 11 years now and love it. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
Sota.. just a reminder.. hips hurt when you straddle ATV on long cold rides. Side by sides have a comfy seat. You can haul 2 t0 4 people and carry the mail while your at it depending on the model you choose! I got a two seat-er and wish I had gotten the 4 seat-er.
Pro's and Con's with all of them.... Let budget, options and Service availability answer your question.
I really like the Honda Pioneer 1000 that the father in law has. We use it damn near every day with the chicken barn and other stuff around the farm. We have the 2 seat (can fit a 3rd in the middle) and I think that is perfect since we don't ride the trails. We have smoother road tires on ours so it doesn't handle in the snow real well, but if you had right tires I don't see any issue. The bed on a side by side is convenient when you're needing to haul stuff (maybe like your auger, heater, fishing gear). You also have the option to go all out if you wanted and get heat/AC, full cab, etc.
FYI the back seat of Polaris 4 seaters (RZR or Generals) lack of legroom are not meant for average size adults. The Polaris Ranger backseat has more leg room but have bench seats so not as comfortable. I have a Polaris RZR XP 1000 (2 seater) and love it for riding trails and some road riding. It depends on what the intended use is and how comfortable you want to be while using it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Don't get a RZR. If you get Polaris, get a Ranger. Can am Defenders are real nice as well. As far as comfortability, I actually prefer a four wheeler. All around, especially for hauling fishing/hunting gear, winter use and if you're going to have riders with you more often than not, I would definitely go UTV.
Sucks that I lack storage space, in the summer the fishing boat is in the garage when it is not in the water with the pontoon and dock configuration I do not have room to put a boat lift in for it.
I almost bought a kawasaki. Price right.. smooth ride. But went with all the options you could get on CF moto. Made by yamaha sold out of China. My dealer closed this year so service may be an issue going forward!
Yeah, mine cost me $5600. If that's out of your price range a utv may not be for you. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
Although my Yamaha Rhino 450 has served me well, my next ride will be a Polaris General, 2 seater. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
