Lol so I didn’t hunt this evening so I was eating dinner with family and peeked out window and a 130+ 10 pt was out making a scrape on side of my field. So I run to truck grab my bow and sprint to cut him off at a section of woods. Lol he started trotting and I couldn’t get there fast enough a land he slipped away. Went back to the house and 3 more deer go dashing same way. Rut is on here Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Yep, natural gas. I think I had the leak for years actually, as I would randomly wake up with headaches and dizziness. It’s only been about 10 days since repairs and airing out the house, but I already feel like a new man
Glad you got it straighten out. Do they not put smell in it so you can detect it? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
That's scary man and I'm glad you figured it out. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
They do, but I was exposed for so long, I was immune to the smell. It dawned on me that someone else had mentioned it to me a while ago, which probably saved my life. It was stupid of me not to act on it sooner
I only had to chase down 1 blind today after the wind storm! It uprooted and blew about 20 yards. 5 does were bedded right behind it when I walked up. 1/2 mile down the road there was a 135" 10 point begging to get run over.
Wow. Scary stuff, Glad to hear you are doing good and getting back on the woods!! good luck!! Go kill a giant! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The good: I have an 80 acre slice of heaven all to myself The bad: this ordeal has me twisted into a nervous wreck. If a bruiser steps in front of me tomorrow, I hope I can keep it together
Idk where to share this, but a friend of mine posted this on FB. Pretty amazing Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
So, no sooner i put my phone in my pocket, see a buck working his way through the brush. He was headed straight at me. He passed me at spitting distance and these was no chance of a shot. He went about 15 yards behind me and then hooked back around to the other side. He contributed his wide circle around me until he was about 18 yards out. Had to give him a meh to get a shot. He gave a huge mule kick and tore out for about 50 yards. Then he was down to a walk. His tail was whipping like a flag in the wind. He made another 20 yards or so and he bedded. After what seemed like a couple minutes, he got up and walked into a pine thicket where i lost sight of him. I felt that i was a bit high and a little back and based on his reaction decided to sit in the stand until dark before i got down. When i got down, i found hair at the impact point. No arrow. Found a little blood at 5 yards. Found decent blood for about 20 yards before pulling out. Came back out 3 hours after the shot. The blood trail just got better and better as we went. Found the spot where he bedded and found a lot of blood. Over the next 20 yards we found multiple spots where there was a lot of blood. He was about 25 yards from where i last saw him-already stiff. I was back just a touch back but midbody high (im 14 feet up). More quartering than i thought with an exit through the back of the off side shoulder. Here he is. 7[/QUOTE]
