Just checking in quick. No wifi at my cabin. Great sit 6 or 7 bucks. One i would have shot. He was trailing a doe but the beech got my wind at 15 yards. She checked up and you all know "the rest of the story".
Only had 2 deer in range tonight. Both small bucks. Seen about 7 unknowns at about 45 yards. Did see a fricken biggie across the river. He acted like he wanted to cross over to my side but the river was flowing and ice flows were crashing. He changed his mind.
Well guys first bow season camecto an end today. Had a 150's 10 pt at 50 yds in brush with a doe tonight no luck on a shot. Rifle starts tomorrow. Huntin with wife and duaghter. Will keep you guys posted how they do!

Had a spike at first lite then nothing for about 2 hours... then 4 doe ran in kept looking back sure enough 8pt to follow... after they ran out of view the doe turned and walked right under me i knew it was a matter of time that buck would follow sure enough here he comes but another buck stepped out grunting to my right he took off after him. Well, been laid up the last 4 days with what I thought was gout in my left big toe. So painful that the weight of the sheet would wake me up at night. A trip to the doctor today, and turns out it not gout! Thank God. It’s got a fancy name, but basically it’s hyper extension of the big toe backwards. So, some high powered anti inflammatory pills and ordered carbon fiber footbeds from Amazon and I’m good to go. Got a meeting in the morning, so back out tomorrow evening!
Last day here before the orange army hits the timber. Headed out to my favorite spot again this morning. Bucks were running like crazy yesterday. Still have a buck to kill and domes does. Remind me to tell the story of what happened yesterday.
