Shawn F'in Clark!! Getting it done - heck with all the action you are seeing on a daily basis it was only a matter of time. If we do win - I think we can go ahead and put Shawn down for a buck and a doe he's the safest bet this side of the Mississippi.
To tell you the truth guys, I was really discouraged. It usually never takes me this long to get my buck and it was the last day of my vacation and that combine on the neighboring farm, I almost turned around and went home but I stuck it out and BAM, BUCK DOWN!!!!!
So we as of right now let's play this thing out. Me with a 0 Flora with a 0 Ridge with a 0 Bobcat with a 0 So if the 4 of us did nothing else other than kill a doe we could still add an additional 200 points. Humpy & Dbl are both yet to fill a doe tag. So you if they were to take a doe that would be another 100 points. Honestly - the chances of all of us recording a doe is unlikely but you factor in another 300 points and the bucks currently not added and that would put us above the winning total last year. We are very much in this thing if we can get maybe 1 more buck and 4 to 6 more doe.
I will be in a tree stand tonight, tomorrow morning and afternoon, Friday morning and afternoon... Beyond that - I am not sure. I have 5 hunts - but all I really need is 1 good hunt not all 5!
Awesome buck. I am in the same boat. I usually have a decent buck down by now. The current 80 degree weather is not helping my hunting for sure. Came across 3 snakes yesterday in the swamps. Not what I like to be seeing in November. Congrats again.
Heading to stand in a little bit. Can only hope that tonight is the night. Been a long season with no shooter sightings on the hoof. New spot this evening I came across yesterday. Wind is good for it and is within 60 yards of a bedding area across a creek. I will be just on the other side of it about 20 yards off the creek.
Just checked back in on wi fi since service sucks here . Missed a doe earlier. I was on the ground and its a long story but things happened and I shaved her brisket, hit a rock and destroyed a broadhead. Action here is at a stand still with really warm temps and little to no daylight movement. Back at it tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hunting has been very slow here the last week or so with the temps being warm. Mature deer movement has been minimal to zero during this time. I haven’t even been hunting hardly at all because of the temps and the boys have kept me quite busy. I’ll be leaving Saturday morning though for my Kansas Rut-cation so I’m very much looking forward to that. Hoping to better my last deer that I got out there which scored 174”. Stay tuned boys.
Man going to be a beautiful morning to hunt. We will see how she goes... 32 degrees. 4mph winds. Might be the best timing and conditions I get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
