Nothing going on here either but it isn't 8 am yet. Weird tho that I feel like I've been here on stand much longer.

Lock down might have begun boys. Watch pinch points and bedding routes. They will be up again in few days

Sure is possible. Apparently they did not bed up here in this spot and maybe it's too warm on this south slope for em. Might give it till 9 and then move. There is a pinch point that is on a travel route to some other beds close to me, so I may make a quick move there. Not as open as this either.

It'll happen boys. Someone is putting a buck down by the end of the week. Cold front coming here (IL) on Wednesday. Should get them up and moving again!

Cold front doesn’t come in here until Wednesday.

I will probably not hit it very hard until then... My uncle comes on Wednesday night. So will definitely be in a stand most of the day Thursday and Friday.

Gun season opens here on Saturday- fear not I only bow hunt. I actually don’t love being in the woods in Indiana during Gun season since they opened it up to rifle. It’s just not a rifle state in my opinion - not safe. Hate it. So hopefully I can get it done prior to Saturday.

Seen 6 so far this morning. Passed on a young 11 point. He was making a scrape about 10 feet away on one of the pine branches of the tree I'm in. 20201109_092111.jpg

Back out this evening. It feels like opening day, 77 degrees. If it wasn't the rut, I'd be on the couch and my last full day of vacation. Back to work Tuesday night.

Had a cool encounter with a buck tonight. I have passed him twice so far this year and got him on video both times. He is going to be a great NY buck next year. PXL_20201109_220433065.jpeg

Had a shooter come in just before getting down. Not quite enough light. We'll see what happens tomorrow! Anyone else getting out?

Afternoon hunt. Last day of vacation. Back to work tonight. We'll see what happens. Yes, it's warm but the rut is going on, a big front is coming in tonight. I think movement will be good. Good luck to everyone!!!!!

I'll be sitting in a stand I haven't set in yet this year. Always a great cruising stand. Any decent buck I see in range tonight is going down!!!!!

Neighbor cutting corn. Combine already chased a couple deer away. One nice buck too. Live by the combine, die by the combine.

So I get out there and the neighbor is using the combine on the field cutting the corn not too far from my stand. The combine went down and away and I looked over and saw this doe. Shortly after I saw her this buck walks out. Looks like a decent buck. The combine comes back and they take off. So it's getting to be about 5:20 and I see this doe pop out again. Sure enough, here comes the buck. Here comes the combine again too. Only this time the doe runs over my way past my stand and stops about 20 yards past me. The buck follows suit only he stops broadside like 20 yards straight in front of me. Took aim and let one fly. He took off like a bolt of lightning and I heard him crash down the hill probably about 60 to 75 yards away. Pretty sure the shot was dead on so I only gave him til just as it got dark. Climbed down and followed a pretty good blood trail right to him he was already dead. I knew that combine would make or brake me tonight and it did both. But in the end it helped me out! Gonna try and score it before I head into work tonight. I'm guessing right around 120 give or take.

So with our 2 bucks yet to be added, that will bump us up to first place. I think if we add a few more does and 1 or 2 more decent bucks we just might take this. Here's a trail cam pic of this buck. 20191015_052604.jpg
