Sadly can’t hunt today, Pennsylvania is in the beginning stages of implementing Sunday hunting. Each deer season is getting a trial run of 1 Sunday. Archery closes out on next Sunday here. I have Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday left of the early season to get some points!

56 degrees here and it's heading for 75. I'm going to try hunting here at our place this morning. Wind is supposed to howl later in the day before rain and cooler weather moves in for tomorrow and the remainder of the week.

    Good Luck to everyone!

Looks like a great trip to KS, Jimmy!!

Guys I apologize because I have not been nearly as vocal this year as I have been in years passed but I assure you I am reading messages and enjoying everyone's success. Especially Trial you are going to have to change your name to Terminator.

As a peace offering for my keyboard absence I would like to inform you all that I let an arrow fly on a big stink nasty this morning at first light. I think I heard him crash but am giving him time to make sure. Here is a grainy picture of him moments before the shot. Stay tuned... IMG_20201109_072717722.jpg

Looking for a white belly but there was none to be found. Bobcat got to him and tried to cover him up.

    Awesome! Congrats Joe!

My 130 points that I let walk the other night would certainly help a pretty solid effort by the team so far. I’m hitting it Wednesday and the weekend hard with cooler weather finally moving into WI and winds finally switching from south. Hoping for some redemption to ease the struggle of my decision.

i hunted last wed thurs fri with no shots.
Rut activity started at our place Friday, I had to head home over the weekend. I had originally taken Monday the 9th and Tuesday the 10th off but after "mutual" understanding with wife I stayed home.... ugh
Monday morning my father in law shot a decent buck

I will be back out Friday, then its gun season and in MO I cant hunt with my archery tag during gun season.

    Nice buck!!!
Congrats to your father in law!!
Do you buy a gun tag and archery hunt during rifle season? I hunt too many "urban" spots to miss out on those 10 days.

no, too much money for poor ole me to do that. I hunt out of state and it adds up too fast.
i have in the past taken deer pretty late into season and will do again if needed. If i dont get a buck Friday i have to wait until after Thanksgiving.

Hunted yesterday from mid-day til dark. The wind was howling and the temps fell about 20 degrees. I was in a spot that was somewhat protected by the wind and didn't see a deer. We'll see how this morning goes.

Stay at it guys, bucks are moving big time the last couple days. My cams are getting all kinds of day light pictures. Seen a buck cruzing near my house while I cutting with a chainsaw at 10am this morning.

Had a good buck at 45 yards tonight and had the 8 I passed at about 60. Deer were calm and relaxed and not really exhibiting rutting activity, but were moving pretty good with the first calm and cool day in a week. Back at it this weekend. Running out of time but have a good week left before the orange army takes to the woods.

I am not very good at scoring deer. I've got my buck at `120 4/8. I thought for sure he would score higher than that. Ill score him one more time and see what I get.

    Didnt you miss any measurements?
    All the tines?
4 mass measurements on each side?
    Inside spread?

Your number looks really close to me, I think you got it. Great buck for sure

I recorded and counted the deer again and got 122 1/8. I must have forgot to add a measurement or something but wasn't off by much. I entered the deer in the score sheet and just warning you ahead of time that my second picture is kind of crap. You can kind of see part of the bow in the background of you look closely. It's completely my fault. I only got two pictures taken with me and the buck and they were more showing off that the bobcat was trying to bury him than showing off my bow. I apologize. If it becomes an issue I have the whole hunt on video and will share it as soon as I finish editing it.
