What a weekend guys! I’m exhausted but he is cut up, caped out, and ready for the taxidermist. I’m super happy with him. I wish it was a more textbook shot/recovery but it wasn’t. I persisted when a lot of guys I know would have quit. This buck went almost 2.5 miles with all the zigzagging he did. He was everywhere. We followed a marginal blood trail most of the way with some decent areas. We had to have bumped him since we found 3 fairly fresh beds with no deer and a little blood. We made the call to back out last night at 1 am. Went back out at 9 this morning and could not pick up any more blood from last blood. I was ready to throw in the towel but my buddy said we should make a further loop and come back on the creek. Boy am I glad because we found him dead right off the bank. I worked for this deer guys! He went right around 147” I will post him up tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
