Well I just had a fork horn come through at 50 yards. The location I originally planned to hunt on this public was far back in a rectangular wood lot but when I arrived at the access to it half a mile in there were signs saying that it was closed to public access. Those were not there in March. I was really bummed because I was excited to check out the activity back there. Not sure why it’s closed. I’m going to call the dnr this week and find out though.

Out this morning. Saw 2 does and a couple fawns. My cell cams keep telling me I am in the wrong stand.

I changed straps on my stand today. When I climbed down the other day, I saw a strap apart. Replaced them today at 12.

Nothing but a few does on Saturday for me. Had a little push of cold come in yesterday and some rains in the forecast for last night, so thought movement would have been better than it was. 7 does yesterday and a button buck though. The button was chasing around the doe he was with so seems things are starting to heat up a little with the little guys.

I was out quite a bit this weekend. Nothing I wanted to shoot. My friend shot a stud Saturday evening. Didn’t get home till 1 am. Not much blood but we found him. Ended up scoring 169 6/8.[IMG]

I shot high and came out towards the back hitting lungs but no guts...I must have hit a major artery because the blood trail was insane all way through the woods definitely thought the deer would only have gone 50 yards the way the blood looked through the woods however I tracked it for 800 yards across a cut bean field and ran out of blood in the last 100 yards before I ended up finding it...very weird deer are tough critters!

My buddy had the big 14point in his yard on Tuesday 3 times. Once during daylight. I slipped in behind his house and sat last night for the last hour. I saw 7 bucks and 6 does. Got close to sealing the deal on a big 8. I’m going back out tomorrow. Nice thing is his house is 200 yards from mine haha.
