I'm at a loss. 4 sits in and have not located a deer yet! all the good pics I had gotten are from the blue dots ,but that was over mineral. I don't know if they are bedding in the cotton and in the southwest corner or what. its super thick. cotton is still very leafy. I blew one out going to the blind the other day I believe. never seen it. The beans are brown but haven't seen anything in them or got any good intel from cameras. This place is great for the rut but I was getting lots of pictures of does and a couple really good bucks. The bucks don't concern me but I cant get on the does. Access on this place is very hard. Any thoughts? I'm not the only one with permission, but have not seen anyone out there. I have never been very good at getting on them and just hope to put in enough seat time to catch something during the rut. That needs to change due to my son wanting to hunt and I want it to be fun for him. I think he will get burned out if that's the case. thank anyone for any ideas IMG_3782.JPG

I’ll take a closer look tomorrow.

Got winded by a doe and fawn when I first got in. Had 2 does and 2 fawns at 45. Not sure where they went. Didn’t take the main trail they were on.

Where are you accessing from? Anything in the cut corn? I have never hunted around cotton so not much help there. I know once beans brown up they are off them for the most part until later in the season. Any natural browse? Acorns or anything

Another sit another night of does and fawns.

Bucks should start bumping these does around soon with this weather.

The access is very hard. I use the creek bottoms the best. There are no acorns at all. Nothing has been seen on the cut corn.

Sitting here waiting for my son to get done at the orthodontist he's getting braces on then we're gonna head out. Have 12" of new snow on the ground! Should make fresh sign easy to spot!

Well I'm not very good at looking at a map without seeing it in person. So don't think I'll be much help. Just keep at it. It can be frustrating at times

I am guessing that you may be blowing the deer out if using the creek bottom to access your stands. My assumption is the deer are bedding in the creek bottom.

Went out this afternoon. The first two locations I went to already had vehicles there so I moved on to the third spot. Saw five deer in the small hay field on the private. Came across this sign 1603580857021.jpeg

I had a crazy good sit last night. Saw a ton of deer and had bucks chasing does all around me. Had an encounter with a shooter to 50-60 yards away but he wouldn’t commit.

Going back to the same stand tonight.

Put another doe down tonight. And my mother in law got her pb buck. We used a dog the next morning for her buck. Her shot was just a bit back and we lost blood after 120 yards or so. Even with the snow. Figured it would be best to stop and get a dog the next day. Took the dog about 10 min to track another 200 yards or so and found him in his first bed. Guy said he only seen 3 more drops of blood while he was working with the dog. FB_IMG_1603556794192.jpg

ahh damn, I always forget about the team thread! LOL!! I've been hitting it hard the past few weeks. We have a storm system coming through Thursday night, and temps will drop like crazy afterward. Calling it now, I WILL kill a buck on Halloween this year!!!

Just does and fawns again for me tonight. Our cut corn field got worked under tonight and I got winded twice by 2 different does. Might have to pull the set and relocate/give the spot a rest. Tons of good sign in there and I had that excellent sit with chasing on Saturday so it’s tough.
