Going to be heading back to the lease this morning to try a stand I haven't been in yet this year. Stand sits in a narrow band of woods maybe 90 yards wide between a hidden cut bean field and corn field. With the ENE wind I should be in the game this morning. I'll check in once I get settled. The does are in trouble today! Blood must be spilled on this bloody Sunday!
My cell camera was lighting up all through the night. They were on the move all night long. Here we Go!
I'm at the property and heading in! Like VS said above we had a huge cold front push in last night. This should be interesting! I will update in a hour or so when I make it to my spot. Still 1:30 til first light. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
This probably isn’t the best decision, but if something comes from anybody other way besides from the corner of the field, it could turn into the best decision.
Weather underground used to be good, but IMHO they got rid of some useful visuals for wind and rain forecasts. For wind, I now use Windy and use AccuWeather for forecasts.
Bumped something on edge of corn. Rightfully so, I sounded like a freight train coming through it. Gave it a “what’s up?” grunt. It didn’t sound like it went far enough for me to get into the tree. Starting to rain now
I'm up and set, already shooting light. It's raining lightly and I have a opossum hanging on the same limb as me not 10 feet from me. Hope he stays there. I think I missed my mark that I wanted to get to by 40 yards. If I see deer movement over there at all, I'm moving right away. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I can't wait for these next few weeks to unfold! I haven't been this excited for the rut since 2013-15 when I was fortunate enough to hunt the rut in Illinois. I hope my GPA doesn't suffer too much! LOL!!
