Chief, that’s exactly what this position is. I am the “Shirt”. Lol. Yeah, it’s a 4 year gig and therefore it will put quite a dent in my hunting availability till it’s finished. I can’t complain though because I volunteered for it.

I have hunted 8 times this year and have already had my best season ever! As you remember, I killed my biggest bow buck (8 point) two weeks ago. Even if I can’t make it out much more for the rest of this year, it has been a success! Worst case scenario, I just kick back and watch you all KILL while LFTS.

Yes. You and picman got it right!

That’s neat that you have 3 kids in the Air Force! Why didn’t they join the navy??? Just curious. I was also a recruiter 4 years ago. Any of your kids stationed at Little Rock?

Treat your clothes in Sawyer’s permethrin. Spray them down and let the clothes dry for at least two hours before wearing. It kills ticks on contact before they can embed. Most mosquito repellents will not kill ticks.

None of my three kids in the Air Force are at Little Rock. I wish they were. I’d get to see them more often.

One son is EOD stationed at Langley (He’s on the forums here), one daughter is at Whiteman AFB in Missouri and another son is at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho.

I have a daughter who did join the Navy. She went in as a Cryptologic Technician (Interpreter) and specialized in Mandarin.

I think two of my kids were afraid of the idea of shipboard life and went Air Force.

The third one in the Air Force REALLY wanted to join the Navy as a Nuke but he had eczema and the Navy DQ’d him. The Air Force finally started waiving eczema. He got in and he is loving it.

I finally read this and seen you were trapped too. Now I follow you. Things are heating up. It’s unreal how many times your about to lower the bow and then you hear that dreaded slow walk. They come in and just stand.

I actually left my bow and fanny pack in the tree since I’m going back in the morning, but I know what you’re talking about.

Have you seen any bucks in the seeking mode yet. I posted a few pics and had a buck trailing a doe. Things are about to get real fun.

No I haven’t. The only activity I’ve seen so far was does being chased being chased by a little fork horn in Kentucky.

On the 17th though, also in Kentucky, my brother shot a 7 point that probably would score 110 - 115 that was already with a doe.

Who knows how this really works? I haven’t seen a single scrape or fresh rub here at home yet.

He would have been great. Every once in a while you run across one of those nerdy brilliant types that would be be a perfect fit as a Nuclear Field Electronics Technician.

That’s my son Michael to a “T”. That’s all he wanted to do and when he got disqualified at MEPS for a small eczema spot on his leg it pulled the rug totally out from under his feet.
He couldn’t find his direction in life after that.

When the Air Force announced they would start waiving it he was ready to go.

He just made Staff Sergeant his first time up. Kinda made the old man proud.

Well, I'm up, dressed and waiting to walk out the door. I don't really want to get on stand more than an hour before first light.

Am I the only one going out this morning?

Headed back out, seen a decent buck last night on the drive out of the property I hunt. At the end of a driveway. Driveway is about 1/2 mile long. Nice 8 pt about 16 in spread.
He didn't stick around once my headlights lite him up. Ran across the rd. Into a golden rod field. I don't have permission to hunt that property.

    Waiting on daylight now.

    I appreciate that!

Turkey? We’re you at Incirlik? If so, I’ve been there. If you’ve got to deploy that’s a nice place to do it.
