Pic from this morning and a possible shooter, love the bigger body and he has the genetics to be a true stud. Tough call for me, summer scouting and pics just haven’t showed me much so far this year. I know most would take him in a heartbeat but that’s what makes it fun for me. Drives my wife nuts but that’s ok!

Hope I do this photo attach correctly!

ya know, ppl say "let em go, let em grow" buuut I'm shooting that buck in a heartbeat.

Each year, I go into the season wanting to shoot a bigger buck than the year prior, but usually ends up with me hunting for meat instead.

Understand - every whitetail a trophy - I hunt all year so I just have a ton of time invested in every season. With one resident tag it’s tough for me. Thanks for response. I will post who I am after, just not sure he’s still alive.

Before I forget to post, 2019 I hunted a brute and only got close once but I couldn’t get clean shot. I ended up shooting 150” 8 pointer on Jan 5 2020. Last pic I have of him I will post here, December 31 2019. No pics on cams and no visual sightings this year. No sheds from him but it’s a huge piece of CRP and timber. Most of it is bow only. So, I am hesitant until I know one way or another but a bird in the hand....

Big ol mature buck, I'd shoot him every time. Unless you are after a bonified 180 plus buck, the buck in the photo is an awesome deer.

Every year is different, as strange as this year has been I feel lucky just to get out and go! My 37 years standing in a tree have to count toward something, is my other thought. I have passed more bucks then I care to think about but it has to be what's right for me! Anyway, this is my therapy for today. Shower time and get packed and loaded and head to bush. Can't kill him from my desk chair! Thanks for your input!

Thanks, I will finish the day as I started. Same camera on same farm, same buck my buddy Hick thinks. He’s looking for a doe coming into heat!

Looks like a mature deer for me so don't know how much more growth you'd get out of him, Plus you're in Iowa...so that makes him a "cull", right?

He looks good here, wider than I thought originally. Wide open farm buck, corn field is half picked and CRP north! Going in this morning with my ground blind. Yep - if I get a shot I would take. Thanks again!
