Hardwoods - tough break! All you can do it to try again and hope for better luck...

I posted a doe on the scoreboard. This is my second doe on the Navy Base so I can now shoot a buck. There are some bruisers on Base...

@Hardswoods, he will be back. You just have to be there. If he didn't bolt, he is not sure of why something moved. So when he does come back he may be looking, I would be in a different tree.

    Good luck

Congrats fsh. Two does and now it's buck time. Looks like a great shot.

    We're moving now.

    Let's go folks.

    We can do this again.

We need to drop some Does and a Buck each

Yea I was thinking the same thing, I did get nervous though cause when he bound off I tried to stop him with my mouth. I literally got down half hour after that happened to just get out of there and not make things any worse. It's a tough spot (not so many trees you can get up into really) so not sure where I can get into a another tree, but will have to try to figure something out! I was thinking possibly closing some distance from where he came from, thinking try to get in a tree on that travel path 50 yards before he gets to the point where he would be at my stand and where we had this little incident yesterday . Only problem with this is getting to that stand, the stand I have set in there now I am able to access it with minimal disruption to the property. I have been beating myself up over this since it happened yesterday, so thanks for the encouraging words fellas! It means a lot to me!!!

Spilt the 2 in half, trail and where you were. I know you got to get the right tree. As far as the intrusion go slow. Take an extra 5 min.

    You got this. Good luck

Lite snow, cold front come in now, good time to seat tree stand. I am working 12 hour, 6 days a week. One days off tomorrow I may try sneak out either early morning or late afternoon for couple hours
    Congratulations and good luck all

Mudshark - this is the entry - I have never seen a more devastating wound. (I use the Sevr Titanium 2.0 broadhead). The shot exited in front of the opposite shoulder. She died on a Base road, and pic is how she laid - that is part of the lung hanging out...

Should be able to get out tomorrow am .
Raining still. I tend to get sick if I'm out in the rain. Out for a period of time in the rain that is

I sold my 2nd bow and will be delivering it tomorrow some time.

I should be getting out tonight for a quick sit. Probably my last go for this public land buck. He’ll be changing his pattern soon if he hasn’t already.

I'm going off-Base this afternoon onto a friend's farm. (I shot last year's buck there). I have hopes on this guy, but he's been nocturnal. Come on rut!
