Yes, still here. I’m sitting here thinking that after this sit I may head home. It’s supposed to rain off and on all day. That’s not an issue with a muzzleloader and a box blind available but I really don’t want to kill a buck with my gun yet.
Same over here. Decided to sit out this morning and go to church! I need all the help I can get! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well, yesterday morning the first doe I shot piled up 20 yards from the shot. The second doe I shot made it to the picked corn field before she crashed. I heard her pile up in the stubble. I sat for a few minutes and then slowly packed up and climbed down. I walked past the first doe, pausing to take a look at the size of her and then walked the 40 yards to the field edge. My point in all this is when I walked out of the woods three buzzards flew up off her and around seven more were circling. It couldn’t have been 20 minutes after the shot.
Amazing! Well mine was between 4-5 hours and probably 8 or so had already gotten into the thing. One other thing I found unusual after I thought about it was that I could see that quick of a response from them had it been laying in an open field but this deer was in the timber. Been a while since I've been on! I have a nee job (plus 5 month old and 2.5 year old) so hunting time is way down, got out yesterday and missed a coyote got out today and missed a doe. I committed to full recurve this year so this is just the cost of business. The doe i misjudged yardage but made a good shot. I love the recurve game though! Dont even know where ny compound is lying around Sent from my SM-G930P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My brother in law and I are going in blind on some public this afternoon. Hoping there is bedding on this shelf and I’m hoping for decent sign to set up on between bedding and cut soy beans. SW wind. Brother in law has pics of a decent 8 on nearby private he’s hoping to shoot. A lot of hoping going on
Bear spray is your friend if you don’t want to risk legal trouble carrying a handgun. It will work on Mountain Lions just as well. I had the same dilemma while camping and hiking in Yellowstone over the summer. I don’t have my CCL, so it was illegal to be armed in the National park. Having seen bear spray in action, I would trust that more than my ability with a handgun if I am being charged by a wild animal. Humans are slower and less aggressive than a pissed off predator.
please be the State SC case to decide that your 2A rights don't end just because you decide to take to the field in pursuit of legal game with archery equipment.
