    I don't think so. Something had already got to the hind quarters and the body cavity was absolutely full of green flies. It absolutely grossed me out. I feel pretty bad about the way it turned out but I don't know what went wrong. The shot looked great and as you could see from the photos, the blood looked great.

    I know what you mean. I lost one of my does this year. It had a horrible smell that I just couldn't get past. Also I believe it was sick from something. I felt horrible for just throwing it out, but had too, there was just not something right about that deer. At least you know the other animals will enjoy it. Sorry you lost it. There will be another one for you!

    You know, the same thought occurred to me as well. I've had deer that took me much longer to find and they weren't in this kind of shape. Something just didn't seem right. I dunno.
