Mine is. My back is doing much better. Amazing what a couple of shots and a pain killer can do! Plan on slipping out Thursday night with the wife. Headed to one of our shooting houses overlooking a bean field in the bottoms.
Im going to try to hunt tomorrow night after work takes me an hour to get home plus about 20 minutes to get my son. No sitter has been making hunting hard as wife works 7-8 nights in a row and has been working every weekend. may try to get out early each morning here on my land, and see if he can play with the neighbors kids for the last hour or two each night. trail camera in my yard is just doe and a small 6 point going to move it to a rub line on my ridge above the house and see whats in there. sundays morning hunt I had a bunch of doe with fawns and my spike buck buddy. He hung around for a while sharing my peanut m and m's heard a buck making a scrape sounded like 40 yards or so from the blind. Going to try to head back down next weekend
No deer last night. Pretty warm out. Farmer came in the field and made a pass With bean picker. Dust was everywhere and I had a sneezing fit from it. Hope the cool front hits next week. Gonna get out this weekend and hope for some action.
We have Ohio (3), Pennsylvania (3), Indiana (2), Illinois, Kentucky, Nebraska and South Carolina. So, it looks like everybody is open and we're at full strength.
My season has been open. Spent a couple days out hunting. I have cellular cameras out checking to see when big bucks are out cruising. No monsters seen yet. I plan on 1 more weekend hunt before I take off from Nov 1-17. I usually hit rut at some point which is when I love to hunt. Good luck to everyone out trying to fill a tag. I'm stopping by the lease this evening on the way home from work and swapping the chip on the lone camera I setup for my ground blind set. Need the recon on it! I will be hunting Saturday night at the lease out of my favorite stand. Wind looks great for it.
My 69 year old brother just text me a moment ago. There is one less doe on the family farm. Said it was a big one--- maybe 110 lb dressed He is suppose to hook up with me tomorrow for a lease hunt. He may get tagged for buck only tomorrow! LOL I hate to say it but he has always been a killing machine when it comes to deer. Here is his last two years archery bucks.
Speaking of the family farm. 20 years ago we drug out all the families mounted bucks taken at the farm and hung them up on the side of the barn. Date on this picture is April 19th, 1999. We would cover the whole wall if we did it again!
I'm trying to sneak out today with the kiddo. Maybe a quick sit from 4:30-6:30, since the does have been pretty regular out there. I don't think my spazzy daughter will last much longer than that anyway...
