Just got settled in, kind of improvising today. The wind wasn’t good for my stand so I’m sitting in a bush on a different part of the property.

Oh and I forgot my face mask, so...
    IMG_1425.JPG
Mud mask it is. Supposed to be good for the skin right?

Good luck to everyone else today

Clouds and slight wind finally moving in and so now I can move. Ha. Hoping the buck is bedded where I hope and comes to where I think he will eat. 50% x 50%=25% of happening in best case scenario.

In another more likely scenario he has 8 different beds and 8 places he eats. Like a 1.5% chance. Hahaha.

How the hell does the wind switch 180 degrees after holding steady all day?....I've stopped dead in my tracks and sat down. Weather channel shows steady NE but dang it ...its sw now.

Finally first sit of the year. I'm sitting near the water hole where I killed my big buck a few years ago. Too many acorns to narrow them down so I figure this water will be my diamond in the rough. Absolutely tore up with buck sign here. Wind is perfect so I have my fingers crossed.

I found a tree on the other side of the thicket I was in this morning. It is smaller than the tree I was in but it will work. Would have had that doe under 20 yards for several minutes if I had been there.

Midday scout went through a power line cutover into the same creek bottom about a mile north of where I was this morning. The power line is a good travel corridor and several trails through it but not many tree options. The creek bottom was disappointing other than a couple of crossings with a few tracks, not much sign. Untouched Acorns all over the ground, way too many for the squirrels to eat. but no deer sign. Not sure I will waste any hunts there. I found better sign scouting a different spot last week.

    Good luck PM shift.

Great hunts guys...I worked so hard today to be ready for an afternoon hunt....my back is killing me and I'm too tired to go out. ...lol, picked a wheel barrel of pumpkins, blue Hubbard, butternut, and acorn. Then more tomatoes, bell and frying peppers and swiss chard. Made dinner ahead of time, salmon patties and eggplant parmesan.laundry and ironing in between. Tomorrow is all mine!
Best of luck to all going out tonight and stay safe. Let those arrows fly true.

Stuck around till 1, got back to the truck and it’s raining pretty good.
Wasn’t supposed to rain until 8 pm?
Not sure where I’m going for the afternoon.
Gonna chill for a while and study all of the data

Small buck cruising with his head to the ground. A little early but the small ones want to get the party started.

Well guys.... I’m pumped, came into this spot I’ve never sat on my private property. And I’ve got scraps and rubs everywhere. It’s just a grass field in between the corn and the timber. But it’s completely blocked off for any people eye sight. It’s trashed in here and I’m on the ground in the gillie!!! Time to NUT UP OR SHUT UP

All set up, came in as quiet as possible with how crunchy it is today, sitting in some really thick cover here, shots will be under 20, hopefully I hear them coming because I won’t see them till they are right on top of me, just down wind of what I suspect to be bedding, have a small amount of acorns dropping, that’s nothing here though there are white oaks everywhere in these woods, looked like some fresh sign on the way in

Forgot to mention earlier, when I climbed out of the tree this morning, there was a fresh scrape at 11 yards and deer crap right in the middle of the trail at five yards that I sitting over. Right area, but wrong trail this morning.

On the road. Hour drive to spot and guess what. I forgot all my camo clothes. I have earth tone carhartt pants on and I will stop at Walmart for a cheap camo shirt. I guess I’ll give it a dirt bath when I get out there to help with scent. Don’t want the 5 year old Chinese boy sweat odor to give me away. Adapt and overcome!

Weather Channel sucks balls on accuracy so bad, I deleted it. AccuWeather or weather underground used to be best for me.
