The holy crap, help me score this atypical buck before posting to the scorecard thread.

Every year mistakes are made and I don't think anyone does it on purpose, but I thought we could collaborate here before a score is posted and crap talking ensues. If you have an atypical, just plain weird buck or questions in general, post them here! I'm no expert, but there are those here who have more nuanced knowledge and happy to help. Right? Right.

So guys where do you take the first circumstance on this guy. I took it above the kicker but if I'm wrong I'll be happy to add a few for my team. PXL_20201001_132307227.jpeg

In my opinion, you scored it correctly. That measurement is meant to represent lower portion of the beam and is to be taken at the smallest circumference there.

If you were on team 12, the above would be a bunch of BS and my answer would have been structured accordingly.

Smallest circumstance between the burr and g1. Can always measure in a couple places and take the smallest measurement.

    Josh,

Can you post a close up pic of the front of that left base?

I was told they shared a base. If they do indeed totally share a base and there's no evidence that that "point" splits off the main beam then it would have to be scored as an abnormal 3rd beam. In the pic above they almost look like two separate beams coming out of the base. This is why I asked for a close up of the front.

Edited: Scoring it as a 3rd beam might cost you one heck of an H1 measurement on the right side.

I will take lots of pics when I get the hair off the skull. If its indeed a brow, wouldn't the first mass measurement be at the base of the antler and not above the brow? The pics below i have on my phone and I lean more to a massive brow tine

I was editing my post when your other post came in. Those are much better pics.

I have to say that I believe that is a G1, not an abnormal beam, but I'm no professional.
