    Had a local kid from church get mauled by a grizzly in Alaska yesterday. Very sad for the family and everyone. Was moose hunting and tracked it into some thick brush, grizzly got him out of nowhere.

    That sucks. I grew up in British Columbia. Grizzlies are an expected part of life for anyone that gets out of the cities. Did the kid make it?

    Opener is tomorrow but I am probably going to sit it out. The high tomorrow is 85. I don't want to risk a bad shot and losing meat due to spoilage. I am planning sighting my rifle with my boys to get them ready for youth season and then scouting a piece of public I have never hunted. I will scout with bow in hand and boys in tow so not expecting much. A big cold front is coming next week, I will be out then. Next weekend's highs are low 60s.
