Hey guys! Just got back from 10 days in Colorado. Shot a nice cow at 35 yards just a little back and unfortunately didn't recover her. I knew it was a liver shot and waited as long as I thought I could being 5 miles up the mountain. Followed good blood and bumped her and she went crashing down the mountain. I elected to back out and hike back in the morning but lost blood. Frustrating for sure. I had bulls all over but just couldn't close the distance. It was a great time and I caught a lot of trout to bring home. Now my focus is waiting on that first big cold front in October.
Checked the weekend forecast, the wind will be wrong for morning hunt at my dad's. Looks like I'll be hunting on my neighbor's land Saturday morning. I've had lots of does on camera and should have plenty of action. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Saw a handful of doe with yearling and button buck tonight, let em all pass. Was packing my bag up and heard one coming, lone doe 16 yds. Couldn’t resist!
Well, I'm retired, so I have nothing to do but spend time on here and hunt. Oh, and when I'm hunting, I still spend time on here.
That is a great way to get the season started. Congrats Taking care of the ladies first, you can not go wrong with that.
My sit was horrible! At least as far as seeing deer...the mental R & R was outstanding! Didnt even see a squirrel! LOL Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
Congrats on the harvest. I’m still waiting for October 3rd for the season to start. Lots of does right now. The big boys start creeping in about the third week of October. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
