Sitting on my cabin deck watching 7 deer eating pumpkins 45 yards away.
One big old doe and a small forkie.
To warm out to deal with the meat so she gets a pass.
    Besides, I'm on about my 7the beer:lmao:.

    Just seen your post BB4.

    Nice! Keep us posted.

Crap! I think I gut shot him.

Gave him time, started following the trail and finally found my arrow 100 plus yards down the line. It's also where the blood trail ends. Has some crud on the vanes.

I also jumped him not far from the arrow.

Backing out, will look for him tomorrow. Maybe I didn't screw things up totally.

    Crap!!

Gutt shot deer, the arrow should have easily blown through?,
    Unless an angled shot?
Glad you backed out. Keep us posted. Best of luck.

What does the arrow look like? Did you see him running off? How much blood did you find?

The arrow is covered with blood, not dark red like liver but also not bright like lung. There is also a small amount of food like material on the fletching.

The shot was quartering away, I was aiming for the off side front leg. I think I got more than just straight guts but I also think I hit farther back than I wanted.

Blood trail was pretty easy to follow up until the last twenty yards or so. Then it disappeared when the arrow came out.

When I spooked him, he jumped the creek and went bounding through some thick brush. I'm hoping he opened something back up and there will be something for me to follow once I take up the search again.

I had to call it a fail. Between thick brush and standing corn, I could search from now until the end of time and still come up empty.

That leaves me 0 for 3 on deer that I've tracked and jumped over the years.

I suppose I'll let the property sit for a while since I've tromped all over it.

Season opens up Saturday and I plan on hunting Saturday and Sunday. Heres some pics. We call them "swoops", "trashman" and "floppy"
