Good excuse to buy new gear! I'll show this to my wife and say "see honey, this is why I have to upgrade my gear."
My hunting partner sent me this a few weeks ago. While checking our stands, he saw one of the better bucks hit by a car next to the road. I checked cameras, and he was frequently coming by. Nice 10 point. I know deer get hit all the time, just hate to see a shooter go down before season.
These are more suggested parts than absolutely necessary! How do you like that back stabilizer? With my string stop I can only go off of my front threaded insert so I was thinking about getting a combo mount.
man, if you need all that crap on a hunting bow you need a new bow. That's too much weight to be dragging around and too many things to break/come loose. Isn't a hunter in the world needs more than the bow, sight, quiver, and maybe a 10" stab to help the after-the-shot-form and also take away some vibration. Admittedly I do have some limb savers on which help quiet my bow, but they don't make it shoot better.
Bucks on one of the two properties I will be going after this year. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I am at the mercy of the land owner for trail cam photos, but I kicked this buck up scouting this summer. Some added inches from what I could tell. He dove into an exit trail before I could get fully turned around. Front crabs claws are still there. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
awesome. I like our chances this year. Sorry I don't have any current horn porn but there are a bunch of random 120+ running around the Michigan properties I hunt and WI could see/shoot anything from a 130-200. My buddy shot a 155 last year there opening day of gun. Not going to rank this one, but I really hope to see this guy this year- this was from last year Nov 24. Big mature 7 with that crab in the front on his left side. We got 1 clear pic of him early June this year and he is going to be a 6 or 7 again. There was a bump but hard to tell if it was going to be a full point. He's big. These are from a couple years ago but pretty typical to the area.
This is one of the more mature bucks we've consistently got on camera the past 2 years. Nocturnal until the rut, no matter what camera he's on.
Horn Porn, that's awesome! It's looking like in where I am at in MN I will have 2 days of 10mph plus wind blowing out of the south. I do think having a saddle will help me some to get in the right spot if I can find a tree. For the first night my plan is to set up on the north east side of the northern most food plot to keep my impact low. Hope to see some deer! The brown circles are where I think bucks will bed with a south wind.
I'm in a stand in NJ today and the next three days. Got my earn a buck Doe last weekend and looking for a Buck this trip.
They don't make big ones like you Midwest guys have on camera here in NJ and definitely not in VT. A monster for me would be a 120. I've seen a few 140-150 in NJ driving around and only once from stand. I've never seen one in VT, though 4-5 are shot that big in the entire state. The limitations of hunting in the east.
