Hell, you don't need to learn much then. How to cut out and trim up the straps, cut 2" sections out then cut to about 1" from bottom in the center and lay it open.

Trim up all the fat and tendons and larger portion of silverskin and grind up. A lot of that silverskin will wrap up in the grinder and remove it from the meat as well so don't have to be as meticulous. Double grind with beef suet, bacon or any binder/flavor enhancer you wish.

Could be done in an hoir in that case, after a few deer anyhow.

Well there's the pressure I had heard about. Just had another hunter walk in and started to setup on me about 40 yards away. I whistled and luckily he heard it and backed out.

That sucks, was he at least somewhat methodical on his entry or hell bent on getting up a tree before sunset?

No he was so quiet I never heard him. I just happen to see the sun hitting his back. First thought was it was a deer, but then he turned around. He snuck out just as quietly.

I’m all set up for the afternoon sit.

I’ve moved farther east trying to see if I can get that doe out of the mix. Also, this is a great stand to check out any movement in the area.

Those were my thoughts exactly dnoodles, especially after finding my arrow. I knew the shot wasn’t what I thought it was. Live and learn. Aim a touch higher next time.

The frustrating part is we have a good number of deer and I don’t like taking anything but chip shots on doe for this exact reason and then to still blow the shot and not recover the deer. As a sportsman, I need to be better than that. I know it happens, just sucks.

You're missing out on alot of deliciousness bro! The round steaks from the hams, tenderized, can be almost as good as the chops. And you still end up with alot of burger meat

I hear turkeys and they’re getting closer. That’s pretty exciting since I’ve yet to see one here.
