Im not really that clear on the 48 hour rule, but I figured we’d fake it till we make it. Other states start before us so hopefully we’ll get a feel for the format.

I’m Greg, and I live in Bloomington. I hunt 96 acres of private in Morgan and Public in Monroe and Morgan. Opening weekend, my brother in law are doing a 4 day public land canoe in/camp/hunting trip. I don’t have much on cameras, but have only done one pull. Just ready to get out and hunt!

I'm Tony and live in Columbus. I hunt our family farm of 300 acres and I have a lease of 220 on Driftwood river that is close to Camp Atterbury.. I also have access to property in Brown and Jennings counties.. Been at this game for 40 years still can't get enough of it!

One change needed. My name is JP but my post name is danyeckadventures. There's only one of me I live in Danville and I hunt 40 acres near North Salem in Hendricks county and a couple hundred in Montgomery county as well. The big ones are on the small property so hopefully I can deal the deal there.

Here’s two bucks from my last card pull. Looks like a really nice 2.5yo and an old fat 10. I’ve hunted this property all my life but never ran cameras on it. It’s up at my parents and the past 4 years I ran my cameras on the property behind my house. I don’t have permission there anymore so it’ll be interesting to see what’s up there. There’s been word of a giant buck but I haven’t laid eyes on him. Be nice to get a pic of him

Yes I wouldn’t go hunting this weekend unless it’s squirrel hunting. And I think there’s a free fishing day that weekend but I don’t believe the youth hunting is free

Btw, does any one know around what year the youth hunt started? I never participated in one, didn’t know anything about it when I was a kid.

Hello guys - sorry for the delay in checking-in.

I have hunted mostly Vigo County for the last 14 years. About a month ago or so I got permission to hunt a new property in Parke County (80 acres). I'm pretty excited about that property and what I think it could be capable of - it might take me a little time to figure out what the deer are doing. I've got a stand up already and I've walked the property a couple times - I've got some trail cameras up and photos look good so far.

My Vigo Co. properties consist of an 80 acre property I lease and 15 acres of my own out the back door. The 15 acres is an old timber pasture if you will with a creek running through the middle of it. Beautiful looking piece of property but it's not a slam dunk to hunt - a lot of deer just passing through and you have to hit it just right. A lot of luck involved. The 80 acre lease about 3 mins from my house has produced quite a bit over the last 5 years for me and my hunting buddy.

    Good luck fellas!

OK, now that I know where to post I will be a more active participant. I live about halfway between Indy and Ft. Wayne and I primarily hunt a Purdue research property. Its great because its very limited access and the county game warden also has permission on the property and everyone around knows it. So thàt cuts down on some of the shenanigans. I have hunted this property for more than 15 years and have taken several nice bucks off of it. I look forward to interacting with my fellow Hooooooooosiers as we show everyone else what caliber of deer we have here. I might also mention that I just retired this summer, so that gives me a little more time in da woods!

Well, I've been posting some pics in an Ohio thread of some bucks I'm getting pics of over there. Here's a good one from my spot here at home. He is on the edge of a swamp about 20yds from one of my stands. I've had a few videos of him on another nearby camera so he seems to be a regular in the area. Sorr y about the poor quality of the pic. I'll try to get a better pic when I'm standing over him after I've put an arrow in his boiler room![IMG]
