Right after that post I said screw it. Called a local guy down there that does great plot work for people. When all else fails, call a contractor haha. He said he would start on them tomorrow
This weekend I’ll be doing a card pull and hanging a stand or two. I primarily stay mobile, but I like to have one or two lock ons when I’m running late or feeling lazy. Corn is in this year and I don’t think I’ll get any mature bucks on camera until the beans turn. This is the first year I’ve stuck to my guns and only checked cards twice since late June. I won’t check them again until I’m in there hunting, probably mid-late October.
Sounds like a solid plan, we do some something similar, around this week is the end of camera checking and going into the woods. I have a bunch of lock ons and ladders throughout the farm in my “forever” places but I keep a mobile setup as well. Leaving for Kentucky public land early Thursday morning. I've never done the captain thing so I'm a rookie in that department. I'm sure it's not to complicated.
Last year was the first time I did it. I can do it if no one else wants it. It isn’t hard. Just make sure scorecard entries have date, time, and team number with two different pics with the bow in both of them. Also, keep an eye on the scoring sheets.
