So what is your choice of music genre? I love country. 70s, 80s, 90s. Im a big Waylon fan. But I also love me some hair bands. Crue, ratt, doken, van halen and the like. I also dig underground country. Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton, although chris has gotten more mainstream lately. So what you what guys like?
Hell yeah 80s hair bands!!! I listen to mostly Rock from the 80s and 90s. okay don't laugh, but I listen to a lot of soft rock from the 70s. I also listen to classical music while I'm writing papers for school it helps me concentrate. I like 80s country; Alabama, George Strait, Alan Jackson.
Just about everything except rap, country/western. Mostly rock (60s-early2000s) and alternative. Aerosmith, Anberlin, Alt J....Zeplin and ZZtop. (little known fact, I was a DJ in college which, included once a punk show...) Yeah, so when I say diverse its pretty extreme, my kids heard stuff from bands like the DKs, Sex Pistols, Ramones... Lesser known stuff like Killing Jokes, Meat Puppets... Niche stuff like Agitpop, friends bands... Even Bob Markey, Doors, Phil Collins, Rush, van Halen and van Hagar...
The terrible stuff I sing for the dogs on a Friday after work when I bust out the guitar! There are so many great new bands. -Dirty Honey-. And so many great songs from the 90s- Sound Garden, Smashing Pumkins. then classic rock/blues stuff- Hendrix, Allman Brothers, SRV. More blues/country -Band of Heathens-. “Give Me My Medicine”- Tab Benoit.
My play list would be best described as all over the place from Frank Sinatra to Metalica, country, ska, singers like Chris Isaac, lyle Lovett, all over the place I was an Ice T fan way back in the day.
Not really. Back in the 70s-80s punks really distanced themselves from metal (and every 80s keyboard/synth band like AFOS, Duran Duran,...). Gwar seemed to try to bridge the two (metal / thrash) Listen to some stuff liken (live) Black Flag, Seven seconds... More grunge, faster/frenetic drum rythems..
My cousin Mike Bishop is Beefcake..base player. I never liked their music. I tell him that every time I see him.
Personally I’m all over the place in what music I enjoy. I actually used to almost exclusively listen to a Chicago sports radio station but ever since lockdown started I can’t stand to listen to it. I have been rediscovering music in a way. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I listen to most everything you do as well, however I would add some modern rock (however they definitely have an older sound than most people these days). Specifically, I am referring to Greta Van Fleet. My favorite song by them is Change is Gonna Come or Black Smoke Rising. Their main vocalist has a very unique voice. I'd definitely recommend listening to them and see if you like any of their stuff!

Funny, but when I wrote papers I liked Deftones. I would put their (at the time) 3 albums on shuffle and type for 2 days straight.
I run the gamut. I like red dirt country most I think. And I’m a huge fan of a strong fiddle. Jon Wolfe, Casey Donahew, Randy Rogers Band, etc. If I’m not listening to that, then it’ll probably be classic rock or metal. Big fan of skynyrd (not so much the newer stuff, but RVZ was awesome) and Five Finger Death Punch.
His voice is unique? GVF is a carbon copy of the best of LED Zeppelin- which is a good thing, actually. It's as if LZ at their peak time warped into the 2000s and kept on making music. Give that entire clip a spin. Even people familiar with LZ's radio hits should hear just how phenomenal LZ was live- their studio recordings/albums are good but when they were live their creativity and range is astounding. Like jaw dropping.
I agree, it is a copy basically. I can think of a lot of groups that have similar voices (especially in other genres), but only two with a vocalist like that. I am sure there is more out there that I don't know of though!
