I'm seriously considering purchasing a 2 man ladder stand for use in the coming years. I've got a 10 year old nephew and a couple of young girls of my own that I'd like to introduce to bow hunting and the safest way to get then in the woods (and in a tree) as far add I can tell would be via this method.
    Any suggestions on brand?
There aren't any options at my local retailers to scope out so I'm at the mercy of online reviews and order online and ship to the house. If it makes any difference, I'm in central MN and the stand will likely be left in place once its been set up... throughout the winter months as well.

    Depends on your price range
Tip: Rustolium the welds and the bolts if your leaving it out. Actually I spray the entire stand and inside any tubes without caps. Particular attention to welds and the feet

I like to place a board on the ground so that feet are not in the dirt and I use camo burlap draped off the shooting rail to help with movement ( kids tend to forget )

Price range is up to and slightly over $300 if necessary. I want something that's going to last a long time, and I know you get what you pay for.

I picked up a Hawk 2 man ladder stand last year, and I like it a lot. It's very similar to the Muddy that is posted above. It's a pain to put together and get into the tree, but once it's up it's like hunting out of a sofa strapped to the side of a tree.

One thing I would look for is a platform that goes all the way back to the tree. It really does come in handy when you're standing and decide to flip the seat out. Some of them have a big gap between the platform and the tree, which I don't like. Especially if you have kids with you.

I have to pick one or two up, my son is at the point were he can tag along for short hunts. Most likely will go with either the millennium or hawk.

I use the X Stand Jawhawk 20' for my boys. Sturdy, well made and priced from $270-300. Sportsmans Guide carries them.

You're creeping me out Sota, did I tell you where I live before. I checked their website recently and it didn't look like they had any options for two seaters. I do purchase most of my supplies from them, however, including my Lonewolf and climbing sticks.

Ive been hunting out of double ladders for over 10 years now.

I started with the cheaper models. They worked fine. Granted I hunt alone.

As time went on and some of the original stands began to rust, I started upgrading.

Being I hunted out of them for so long, I liked a few things changed.

First on my upgrade, I wanted a double sized platform. Next, I wanted the seat to flip up so I could get closer to the tree to blend in better and during rain, better shielding.

Most recently I decided I liked the director chair seat and back rest. More comfortable for long sits.

I found on Sportsmansguide where I buy my ladders, a double with individual seats that flip up. Double platform. Drink holders and just amazing ! We refer to it as the “Cadillac”.

    Price wasn’t even $300 I don’t think delivered !

I can probably source a pic of it.

Thanks for the comments. I know that you get what you pay for and I'm getting to the point in life where I'd prefer to purchase (and pay for) quality and know that I'll get years of use to negate the up front investment.

How much effort should I expect to exert to get one of those set up? I'll assume the platform is attached to the ladder on site and then raised to be attached to the tree... This will be my first ladder stand of any kind. I've hugged exclusively out of fixed and hang-on style stands in the past. Will it, absolutely, be a 2 man job?
