Well good luck, was not a rip. High stakes hunt, I always think of that when pondering traveling to hunt.
We hired a super cub to fly us into the area we wanted. It's going to be an adventure for sure. The logistics and hoops we are jumping though for travel for this had been something else two years in the planning ....my buddy and I will be lucky to get this hunt in. Once my tepee is set up and the plane is gone....I am going breath a sigh of relief
The biggest thing I need to do is continue shooting, buy more arrows, and clear lanes for my stands. And I need to do it quick.
Running waaay behind as I have been fighting diverticulitis for a month. Just now getting out to help walk the dogs. Season in TN opens in about 5-6 weeks.
Way behind. OT at work, side hustle of mowing grass, and spending time with my family have taken most of my time so far this summer. At my main job, I'm working 12-16 hr shifts 22-23 days of the month..... Heading for a September-October slowdown.
Way behind. The weekends haven’t been lining up for me. Either I’m not home or the weather is hotter than hell and I refuse to go out in that chit.
If the season started tomorrow, my alarm is already preset for 0230 wake up! September 15th is opening day, and I'm ready!!
I know where my sticks and stands are. Need to get some more arrows and gets stands up. Another week of plugging away I will be all settled and time to prep. I am going to start hunting a week earlier this year and hunt right up to gun season. I have to have it done by gun opener.
8/10....................................................need to buy 2 more camera, i had 2 die on me over the winter. need to hang 1 more stand. i'm shooting well . hitting most of the 3d shoots................ 289 - 307
6/10, I feel comfortable with my shooting and bow. Private property is ready to go, I’m still rushing to scout public pieces in East Tennessee as I have not found any spots with promise yet. I have two quota hunts I feel good about and put in for one more. All my gear is ready to go just needs to be washed. So mainly lack in scouting and need to get some more cams out. I may just be walking blind into some public spots at this rate and trying to find something to set up on. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m always ready. I don’t have to plant food plots. I only use climbers so I don’t have to hang stands. With the exception of the new 14 acres, I already know what trees I will climb for any given wind direction in any of the three states I hunt. I shoot off and on all year. The only thing I need to do is treat my early season gear with permethrin a couple of days before the season opens.
Bow is re-tuned and arrows are built. I need to buy a few more and build just to have a full dozen ready to hunt with for the season. I have done a lot of online scouting but no on the ground scouting yet. It is hard to find time to do that with three young kids.
And I spoke too soon.....there is now a travel restriction between RI and CT. UGHH!! Time to start E scouting RI Public land. this sucks
7/10 Everything's all set up and ready to go. Just trying to get my shooting dialed in. Practice is key.
Getting closer. Got 3 out of 6 sets prepped , pruned and ready to go. Remaining ones should not need much work, I’ve been hunting same trees for 10 years pretty much. Just ordered a new trophy line saddle last night and it should be here on Thursday. My old trophy line was getting a little worn and turn around time for them is incredible so went with that instead of some of the other brands. Price was right too. Excited to get the season rolling. BRING IT ON!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ready at all times. Shoot year round, both bows. Climbing stands are checked and repaired at the end of last season. Always building arrows, sharpening heads. Year round prep is just something I’ve always done. Got to have your equipment ready, you never know when a hunt will pop up!
