Figured this is about the time of the summer I get this thread rolling.

What's everyone up to this off season?

Anyone's out of state/country plans for this season screwed up by Covid?

All I've got to do this off season is build a new "a frame" blind for my son and I for our pasture.

I'm ready to chase some birds, that's for sure! All upland/waterfowl discussion welcome and encouraged.

Nice. Well looks like our Canada bear trip is out, so gonna likely do some ducking up in NODAC.

Honkers are slowly starting to show up already. All of the small grain has been cut this week in the area so will make early season more interesting since they'll all be eaten out by September. Silage will be early this year though.

Getting more excited all the time since i'll be bringing my little guy (3) down the pasture for some hunts this year.

Got North Dakota booked for October. Should pull the boat out this week and see how my raffia is holding up. Early teal is gonna be exceedingly difficult this year with how little rain we've gotten, those sloughs are all dry still.

I'm in SW MN. We've been catching just about every rain this summer; so far.

Ready for seasons to start for sure! Personally, I do more upland hunting than waterfowl. One of my french brittanys had puppies, and we decided to keep one male. Excited to see him work and learn this season.

Early goose opens up here tomorrow in MN! I've been gone for the last few days so I'm not sure what's around for geese but have heard many reports of guys losing birds in the last couple of days. I'll be running traffic in our pasture so we'll see what happens. I'm taking my 3 yo son for his first hunt so that's what i'm most excited about!

Teal opener! Should’ve killed out but hey we had fun. Almost got some geese too but I think the mojo’s turned em away. 719D856F-6C77-44CE-BC01-0105416E1257.jpeg

Hunted opener on Saturday and only saw 10 about a mile away.

Went out this morning and saw a few more birds and got on the board. 1 shy of a limit.

Took my little guy and he had an absolute blast! Even got knuckles deep helping me clean them.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

2 more yesterday morning. Our early goose is now closed. We open back up for ducks and geese for a week, closed for 2 weeks and then back open again on October 17th.

We'll be starting harvest here soon so I likely won't be out till after we're done combining unless we get some rain days.
