I don't have a single trail camera in the woods right now, I haven't done any food plot work, I'm not sure where all of my treestands are at and I just started shooting my bow earlier this week. I am woefully unprepared for the upcoming hunting season. Oh, and I leave to go antelope hunting in 35 days.
I suggest buying...er grabbing.... another Busted Rack shirt and call it for July prep wise. Giants will fall this fall for you
Some seasons are like that, especially when you buy a boat. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hunt long enough and you will have those seasons and their polar opposite. From my research they rarely correspond to success come fall.
Welcome to the club! We take pride in being ill-prepared, preoccupied, and excuse laden. Some call it being lazy and unmotivated but we just like a little more of a challenge. Nothing beats being a frustrated anxiety attack in a tree.
have yet to take a shot with any of my bows since maybe January- and that was like 5 shots with the brand new stick bow. That changes this weekend though.
You need to do a spoof with face masks on this year on the show. Lighten up this doom and gloom time we are in. I’m so ready for the tree stand.
I think gear and everything else is the least important thing anyways. I'd rather scout 5x more and maybe not shoot so good out past 30 yds.
Been shooting my bow but haven’t done a lick of scouting yet or put up any cams. We can still get it done this fall, nothing to worry about. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Think of the glass half full and look at the positive, and look forward to the surprises that await you. But you better be ready to shoot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dunno; having put bad hits on deer 3 seasons running I definitely need to tighten up my game. I guess I have target panic? Just not on stationary targets.
This past weekend when went to the r100 was closest I've come to anything hunting related yet. Was just thinking other morning on way to shop I needed to get out and set up trail cams. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
And watch you kill a Giant this year! You will be fine on the antelope hunt. Get your butt out there and get to work!
I need to go mow and spray fall plots this weekend, and I am mad that it's going to cut into my fishing time.
Put out 1 cam this past Sat. .. maybe another in a week or so .... the stand locations are ready (40 locations on 2 state properties), I do my trimming in Feb/March, so all I have to do is check the locations when squirrel season opens in a month, as I'll do a walk by just to see ..... since I pack my stand/sticks in, no problem there .. I'll set everything out the beginning of Sept, and it stays out thru the season on the porch/deck ...my clothes I'll get ready in Sept. then they stay in scent safe bags and large zip loks ..... the bow is ready now as am I .... I dont make much of a deal for early season like I used to... if it is to warm, I go Steelhead/Salmon fishing instead ..... Ive learned to pick my days wisely and look forward to my 18 days worth of vacation during the rut and then hunt late season once the damn gun guys are done..
Perfect, now awake from your slumber and start hitting it hard everyday 7 days a week. Lift Run Shoot In the old days we had no cams not treestands. We followed sign. It still works today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
