78 years old and have never owned or shot a crossbow. Always hunted with a compound before. Going to a crossbow this year and need some help. Is a Killer Instinct Ripper 415 a good bow to start with? There is one for sale near me an would like some advice. Thanks

I echo everyone else in congratulating you for hunting as long as you have. May you have many more seasons to pursue your passion. I don't have any personal experience with ki bows but they have built a reputation as a solid company with some great offerings at an affordable price. Here's a short review on the ki ripper 415. Good luck to you and welcome to the world of crossbows.

    Blessings..........Pastorjim

One piece of advise, if your not using a crank to set string take it slow and LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY pull your string back. Im a 62 yr old woman and my Wicked Ridgeway is a 175 #. Always use your knees and forearms NEVER your back. And shortening your pull rope to match your arm length or just ease.
    Enjoy!
