My wife and I are both retired Navy. She did 22 years and I did 24 1/2. I’ve loved the song Anchors Aweigh since I was a kid, but for some reason that I can’t begin to fathom she doesn’t like it at all. She almost hates it. I had it set as my ringtone way back when and every time I’d get a call she would either roll her eyes or tell me to turn that s*** off. I just downloaded the ringtone again and set it as my alarm tone. I’m getting up at 4:00 am to go fishing in the morning. I can’t wait to hear her reaction when the alarm sounds. If the alarm doesn’t wake me up properly I’m sure she will.
Well, I’m up. It took me a bit too long to wake up so the little woman quite literally kicked me out of bed while muttering a few colorful phrases she must have picked up during her time on active duty. Perfect.
You will get lots of attention in the Intensive Care unit at the local VA hospital. Can we send flowers?
