    Unfortunately, still no hunting...

"To ensure the safety of all visitors, hunting including spring turkey hunting remains suspended at all IDNR sites."

    That's stupid.

Guess that means the 1pm entry time for mushroom hunting is null and void

It makes no sense at all. I had tags for public hunting areas in NW IL, neither of them have any recreational facilities. They're basically just 2 parcels of land. I got all excited when I read the headline and now just more pissed off at this.

    It didn't.

First chance I had to go out had 50mph winds.

Cancelled my vacation as I didn't feel the need to use it for turkey.

The one time I did find myself on the road I had overslept. Took a quick shower, grabbed the gun and headed out. About 8 miles down the highway, realized I forgot my tick gear, rubber boots and a mushroom sack. Turned around and came back home.

Realized at that point turkey isn't a big "must" for me.

Wasted a lot of money, but got some free stuff as well. Have what I need should the urge arise next Spring, just don't let yourself get caught up in my procrastination
