I'm getting the itch to get my mineral stations going and am curious what everyone uses each year? I've never made my own but know that it's the best option. I've always bought/tried different things every year. My main goal every year is to simply get pictures of the deer on my property, while still providing essential nutrients to hopefully help with the herds health. I generally buy a livestock salt/mineral block and have been using 1 50lb bag of Purina mineral.

What products are people using this year? Have pictures of previous years sites? Think it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to everyones sites and the pictures they get throughout the season.

Good stuff Jake. I am going to put 3 small ones out on a public land lake spot next month. Im convinced the place holds a big buck or two, but I need confirmation if I am going to spend a half dozen hunts out there. Im probably gonna use store bought mineral licks, but would be willing to try to do some homemade stuff if you guys have some good ideas.

I’ve had this one site going for 8 years now. Some of my favorites over the years.

A lot of pics of deer like this. Mud covering their entire nose trying to get the salt/mineral.

Love the albino photo! Borrowed a hunting video from a friend and saw an albino buck. Most unusual. Illegal in TN to hunt, trap or possess an albino deer.

Since I have to walk everything in I usually use trophy rocks. I can get two in a backpack without any trouble.

It is illegal to to put out minerals in my county now. When it was legal I ran a mineral site for about 9 years. The best minerals I ever used was Monster Raxx. I'm not sure if he still makes them..... Tom??

The three I have going have been seeing daily action. Some bucks are still holding onto their head gear.

I drove over to Ohio yesterday and started mine. I used two trophy rocks and two mineral blocks from the farm store. I've never used the latter so we'll see how those work out. Additionally, I dumped about 4 gallons of buck jam in each site plus 50lbs of corn. If that doesn't draw them in, I don't know what will. I know for sure that the corn will draw those wretched coons in.

Going to be interesting to see how the 2nd site I established today does.

Right next to water. Heavily used area with 2 AG fields 50 yards away.

    Can’t wait for velvet pics!

I prefer not to see a mineral block in my pics, so I spend the extra $1 for loose minerals.

Man I wish we could put something down in NY.... I would be happy with anything actually.
Seriously, do you guys get crazy amounts of pics and what do you set your cameras at. I would assume deer stand there for large amounts of time grazing. I have my cams at the quickest turnaround possible.
